I do feel for you it is horrible when things are so uncertain. I get your annoyance at not being about to do anything about booking movers and the redirections but the movers will be used to it and how much post do you realistically get these days or how urgent are they hopefully you can come back and collect any that slips through the net.
I agree chase the solicitors they are the only ones that actually know and since they are not getting back to you I suggest to me the buyers are messing around. That is why many will not sell to first time buyers because they do not know the process. I do hope it all falls into place very soon sounds like it is short chain which at least is something.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Just catching up, hope everything falls into place today.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
Good progress made yesterday, hope everything goes ok today."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

I've chased the solicitor and left a message with another team in the end as I never get through to her. Hopefully she will call me back. I still need to put insurance in place. I have to be at home this morning as I'm waiting for my meds to arrive and will then go into work. I really want it sorting before I go. Naive hope I'm sure!! Hopefully going into work will give me a break for the house situation / overwhelm. Right best get to it...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Lucielle.
Looks unlikely for today as buyers haven't sent their deposit £ yet. They told the EA they thought they might do it Thursday or Friday. I've asked the EA to ring them back and stress how unacceptable that is and that I moved heaven and earth for them to get a January move date - and they need to reduce the stress by sorting out the deposit and exchange. I so wanted to threaten to pull out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was absolutely livid!!
However my solicitor is also awaiting a couple of things from my mortgage company.
Deep breaths. Meds have arrived. Off to work. Planning to buy lunch on the way hopefully from the (thin) steak and chips van...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm not surprised you were livid, I would be too. It makes you wonder what their solicitor is doing if they think that's okay.
Are they moving from rented accommodation? If so, they might have an overlap so it's not so critical for them to plan moving, swapping insurance, mail redirects and they just don't realise the impact it has further up the chain.5 -
How frustrating for you. You think the solicitors would stress on them the necessity for sorting these things out well ahead of time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Breathe. And don't stress over much over the "X days to order the funds" - it's perfectly possible for them to be ordered on the basis of a completion date being expected as X - they just get sent back if not used - but almost invariably they are. That's what Mr Boss did with ours.
Just keep working towards the completion date you have all agreed on - you know from my experience that the other side messing about on exchange can end perfectly well - even if it does well and truly increase the stress!
(ES - as a rule the solicitors DO stress the importance of things like getting money transferred in good time, but you know that phrase about leading a horse to water...?!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
