Thanks Dawn, Jwil, Blackcats and TG
I've been meaning to set up my watch re falls etc but not done yet. Will try and get around to it. I'm also considering getting one that monitors where I am and can alert family if I go missing on one of my little adventures. Not got round to it yet but have the name of an app DD uses.
The relative situation is not great but they are trying to make the most of the time they have left.
Despite working from home I managed to cry in front of two separate colleagues today - the second rang me because of the first one. She was really reassuring. It was announced this week that any changes probably won't take effect until for about 7 months and the gut feeling seems to be that a restructure would for people at my level would be after that. So I should have income coming in for that whole period and hopefully their own disorganisation will nudge things past my 55th birthday when I'd then be entitled to pension if made redundant.
She also was concerned I was still in pain a week after my fall and wants me to call the GP if it's not significantly better by Monday. I did google and it said soft tissue injuries like this can take a week or two to heal...
Right now it feels like going with unreduced pension is my preferred option - but a) that might not come off and b) I may not want it to by the time the restructure rolls around. It's just a lot of change at once. We've had almost no turnover of the management team for over a decade so we are really close knit. I got told this week that something I've helped prepare for for years was about to come my way but it's now been put on hold because of this. So frustrating. I finished work early - but need to do some work perhaps Sunday to make up for it. The hours I owe are creeping up but I wasn't achieving anything much. My book for next week's course arrived today and it looks like using my work computer should work. I'd best test that out Sunday but failing that should work on my personal laptop. A colleague is going to do the same course - I got him the same deal - so hopefully we can support each others through the course.
I have done an A3 and 2 A5 drawings tonight. I'm getting better at showing tone and shadow etc. I picked up some A5 chalkcards yesterday - so did some chalk and charcoal drawings again. I've also put some of my loose drawings in new folders that came today..
I will try and get out at the weekend. Hope you are all good where you are.

When I fell on my knee during covid, it was painful to kneel on for a long time (that was a kerb and a knee though). Hopefully yours won't be like that, but I spoke to the GP a few months on and they said unfortunately it just does take time."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". If setting up the watch is being put off, could you get someone to do it for you? Also I would consider a walking stick to help you with awareness of where you are (proprioception) . Or if you can, compression or weighted clothing.2

I won’t even try to catch up SH but can see you’ve had some recent discombobulations at work. Have you come across the change curve in work context, it’s useful to frame some of the feelings for you & colleagues https://www.insights.com/resources/coaching-people-through-the-change-curve/

Thanks Dawn, Powers, Jwil, WD and Beanie
Dawn - yes that was the app I was thinking of. Still not actioned it. Will aim to do it before I leave for Italy. It's a long list... Need to book the airport and hotel parking next.
WD - I still need to work out how to use the walking poles I bought - but I doubt I'd have thought to use them on my own drive. I may review on my return from leave whether to get the drive done to help minimise future fall risks which Is why I'd intended to do it originally but my cheapest quote was £5.5K.
I have just booked my discount card for when I land and tickets to see a concert in a Roman amphitheatre. I am very excited about that. I got an aisle seat with a huge gap in front of me so hopefully won't be claustrophobic - plus it being outdoors is good for me as I find the crowds less oppressive then.
DD and I caught up yesterday and had a nice meal and chat and then made some art together which was good. I gave her a couple of pieces of fidget jewellery I'd bought last weekend. She and her BF are likely to stay here while I'm away as part of looking after the cat. It will also give them a bit of a break although DD is working most of that time.
I've been using art as therapy this weekend. Not sure I'd ever show anyone it outside my therapist but they are very powerful. I need to create more contrast on the one I was working on last night and this morning. Still sleeping very badly.
£50 has gone into savings for now - but I'm spending on my CC so offset by that.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I also checked property prices recently - and where the parent told me that next door had gone for the same price as mine - it actually went for £10K more - and there's a house on my very short road up for £50K more. It has a huge driveway and double garage and bigger garden - but I doubt they will get that. It does bode well for me at least recovering what I've spent on this house though. That cheered me up. I still adore my views.
I'm debating going out to eat. but I also need a shower... My house is a tip and needs cleaning, etc, etc, etc.I don't want to waste the time eating out would take. It doesn't feel worth getting dressed while mid making art as I don't want to ruin my new clothes. I need to get more active / eat better though as I've put on a few pounds and some of my new clothes are objecting...
I bought a ready meal for two yesterday so may just have half of that.
Really appreciate your support.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Concert sounds good. I always like an aisle seat too.
Glad the house and views is still pleasing and good news about the prices."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Sounds like your holiday will be a great opportunity to re-charge and re-set.
could you pay DD and her boyfriend to do tidying, cleaning and DIY tasks while they stay at your house?3
