@Rosie1001 Are you able to post a picture of your meter setup?  Then members here can tell you whether it definitely has an RTS, and if the picture's clear enough to see the certification date we can even tell you when the certification period ends = when you'll 100% definitely need to have a new meter.

Other members, which detail(s) need to be redacted in pictures like that?  Is it just the serial number or something else?

It's the first two digits of the meter serial number that are guaranteed* to tell you the year of manufacture, so ideally we'd still be able to see those.

    * Someone will now quote a meter where that's not true!

I'd forgotten about that!  All the meters we've seen recently have a certification date elsewhere, but those have all been newer ones so that's an especially good point considering the OP's is an older one.

Since the early 2000s, when EU certification legislation took over from our home-grown system, most meters will have an MNN marking on them. NN is the year of certification. But the digits at or near the start of the MSN will do as well in most cases if there isn't a nice little circular 'CERTIFIED' stamp. Here's one posted elsewhere yesterday evening:

The radio swtich signal is being switched off in the summer. June?

Do you have a black box marked Tele Swtich ? or RTS

I would try and stick with your existing setup during Jan and Feb. (to keep warm for cheapest £)

Then consider changing in March or April with the new setup to test out how it works in practice
I’ve definitely got a RTS meter installed

I’ve got older non lot 20 dimpled heaters

I am very worried I will lose my afternoon boost

I am booked in for a smart meter , but I’m not hopeful this will go straight forward and I’m reluctant to do it until the weather  better anyway in case of any issues , don’t want to be left with no heating

I currently have 5 hours from around midnight , 2 hours in the afternoon around 1pm
When are you booked in for this?
If you are still with EDF and have not changed supplier since last November and got no further information from them about your afternoon boost, then if the date for the smart meter is within the next say 4 weeks I'd cancel it if EDF can't provide further information immediately. I'd also then raise a FORMAL complaint with them about them failing to clarify what your tariff will be once a smart meter is fitted.
Still with EDF , unfortunately they closed the complex meter department so it’s general advice now from them

    @Rosie1001
Obviously "general advise" isn't good enough in this situation. Yes I'd noticed the Complex Metering team weren't accessible, shame, because they usually knew what they were talking about.
As @AndyPK suggested, I'd stick with your existing setup atm. Raising a Formal Complaint with EDF should get you query looked at by more knowledgeable people, and of course cancel the smart meter install atm if it's in the next few weeks as I wouldn't necessarily expect any quick answers from EDF.
