Keep trying in the app finally got opted in

  • Same here - guess we all got the notification and chose to opt in at the same time. Hope they fix it soon - if all goes well I could save as much as 2p or 3p tomorrow, be a shame to miss out :-)

I struggled but finally got the opt in screen and have opted in.

Not sure if we'll actually be able to save anything though as with having batteries, not sure what our 'normal' for that hour actually is! Presumably there's no down-side to this, and that if we don't use less than 'normal', we just won't get any points? I don't plan on using the oven for dinner tomorrow, so that would be the major thing that's not happening in that time, although the oven only gets used on about 3 nights a week average anyway.

So far I have seen notifications on twitter and the WhatsApp alert system

The app is the way Octopus are pushing this so it might be worth your while getting the app.

With circa 6 million customers and the fact this year's scheme won't always provide 24 hours notice email isn't really the way to go.

I'm not interested in managing my energy on my phone, and I don't use Twitter, facebook, instagram on my phone because I don't want to be interrupted. How much chatter is there on the WatsApp - I might accept that if it's only for saving session alerts.

WhatsApp is just a one way message no customer chat just them sending the message with a link to opt in through the app.

Sounds like you digging your heels in will cost you money? Up to you.
