But our suppliers could just ask us, and if we felt inclined to help, we could do our best
It is currently set up in a way that it requires a financial reward, and that financial reward doesn't seem to be high enough for many people.
I would help, I don't need paying for it.

And then there are others who would have the attitude that energy should be available in limitless amounts at anytime they want it, who would take the opposite stance and would go out of their way to use more in that half hour.

No doubt, the same people who complain about their standing charges.0 -
I'd be happy to help, but I would prefer if it was automated.
E.g. I opt in and then my battery exports during the required time. I get export payments already so as long as I don't completely run out and/or as long as it's not too expensive to top up again later it's fine.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -
Based on the last few days, I could just turn my heat pump off and cover most of it!
Joking, of course!1 -
I don't recall all the details but the scheme is supposed to match up power saving requirement with people ready and willing to take part (hence the on-day opt-in).
The bidding, at least in this current form should deliver roughly the required saving at the lowest possible bid prices (assuming suppliers take part)
So I assume they have decided the bids are all too expenses because they have some backup source of power generation or saving - no brown outs here!
Do we know what? And how much does it cost?
And why do we no longer see Drax bidding?

And more to come.
The first bit of proper winter with my replacement heat pump, a learning curve again!
I used to have hobbies before I got a heat pump!0 -
I only had 1 saving session invite this winter, it was not sent by the app, so missed it.Opted in, says this and no opt in button "Good to know: We'll tell you about the first few Sessions by email. Keep an eye on your inbox!"Also what happened to the default opt in? Seems more of a mess this year than last.
