Crikey.  22p average. So the average saving was just over a third of a kWh.  That's hardly going to be a much of help in reducing demand on the grid is it. Surely that can't be what the powers that be are looking for.
It was reported somewhere (was it earlier in this thread?) that Octopus have/had ~750k people signed up, though. That would make the total reduction in demand for the hour 250MW.

Seems to me that NESO are not prepared to pay much more than 75p per kWh , courtesy Mr Millibean of course.
Of course 18th was a new record for wind generation, and we exported some to Les Grenouilles

Yes, common sense appears to have returned to politics.

For me yes, but I don’t pay 99.99 on agile😝. Octopus agree it’s too low but they also don’t want us to dump energy to the grid at non-peak hours either.

  • According to the e-mail,
"collectively, Octopus customers have saved 108.511 MWh so far this winter,"

Which I assume is the total for this one since we've only had one so far.

Right now I'd consider the "pseudo" prefix an improvement. Doubt this lot will deliver on many of my priorities, but its a step in the right direction.
