Good morning everyone,
ONE DAY TO GO!!!!!
PP - good luck this morning, i hope they let you come home xxx
Yesterday was lovely to log on and find so many happy birthday messages, and today we are having all the merry christmas ones, its so exciting!!!! Its always a packed few days for me, due to the fact my birthday is so close, but i do love it, especially now my 2 are old enough to do more. Mind you, this is the first year they 'know' about Father Christmas, but im still going to do the same things to make it special - i think they would be disappointed if i didnt!!!
Goose is already out and defrosting in the fridge, just need to get the pigs in blankets and stuffing out to defrost now (my cheats, i dont have the patience to make either, and the stuffing is my one extravagance, i get pork and chestnut from M & S!!!). Will be doing a big clean in a bit and then off to Asda, to see if they have reduced their meat, i normally pick up a load of bargains so hopefully will be able to do the same this year.
We are then going to the pantomime in Plymouth, this year its Peter Pan with Paul Nicholas (my children have no idea who he is, i remember him from 'just good friends') and Toby Hull and Emu, who they do know! After that, we will get some sort of takeaway, and going home to watch Miracle on 34th Street - it is a lovely start to christmas, we do the same every year and i look forward to it all!
Well, better get moving, think another cuppa is due first tho!!
To all those who wont be back - MERRY CHRISTMAS - i hope everyone has a wonderful time, however they are celebrating xx
Have a great day today as well, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning All
Off to work in 5 mins
Doing quiet well here all presents wrapped food organised only got 2 food items missing that I was planning on so we will go without them, our local Mr T's is open boxing day but I won't be going out of principle. The only thing that I need to tackle is the ironing pile and it is looking increasingly like I'll pull whats need out and iron that instead.
I've started this thread in the Arms if anybody wants to post on it.
Have a good daySorting my life out one day at a time0 -

Christmas every day - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Frugaljo - I like your thinking re the housework
good luck cranky and pen-pen
I,m not great at xmas -Not much of an extended famly and they are mostly overseas so I get pretty sentimental and sad. I also put pressure on myself to give the kids a great time as my childhood was not brilliant. I have to say I am feeling pretty good this year. With the advice I have gotten here I have been able to save some money and so am not in a financial panic, I have learned some timesavers and most importantly that if it's not perfect we will survive and the kids will still love me - so cheers guys. My middle dd called last night to ask why I haven't turned into the Raging Monster of Christmas Past who is apt to burst into tears at the woolworths advert.
dd22, her boyf and dd18's friend will all stay with dd18 and dgs3 tonight and come over for breckie in the morning. dd11 and exoh will come at tea time tonight and I have saved icing the cake till then. We have never done this before and have decided to chuck the elaborate design we had planned and just go for it - it will be fun even if it aint pretty. I have messed up the christmas pudding somehow so unless exoh picks one up we will go without.
I will also phone my NZbro this am. He is in holland at the moment but had gone off for a few days to visit friends. I can't wait to hear what he sounds like. He left england when he was 15 and so immersed himself in the dutch language that when he went to NZ he barely passed his english test so I'm expecting him to have picked up a kiwi accent in the year and a half since he went.
Have a good day allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Hi again
Managed to get a few hours sleep then up again. Need to tidy up this tip. Might do the ironing, see how I go.
My Stepson and his lovely girlfriend are coming around for tea. Shall do some party food. Then they're taking OH to the pub so I can food prep for tomorrow. Feel so relieved have started essay, I know where I'm going with it now and should be able to crack on after Boxing Day. Plan to watch Carols from Kings later. I never get to see it and it's such a treat.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND LOVE TO ALL OF YOU WHO FEEL UNWELL OR SAD FOR WHATEVER REASON:xmassign: :xmastree: :snow_grin XXXXX0 -

we're all organised here, except for a tank of petrol and some more milk. Daughter is poorly and to tempt her to eat I've been making her some Angel Delight. So its made a serious dent in the milk supplies. hoping the last two presents make it here via Royal Mail.
