Just popping in to report we have both now had our incentive payments 😊 Both applied 29th/30th Nov (can't remember now but we did it on the same day), both switched on 8th Dec, but my payment arrived before Christmas, and Mr Cheery's not til this week.

Hope everyone else has has had theirs by now!
  • I’ve not had mine but they have my switch date as 12th December, because of a problem their end.

They’ve told me in the chat twice now that I will get the incentive, but no date yet. So will give it a week or so, given the above dates mentioned

All very strange but we are talking Barclays here. I opened an account late November 2023 and at the same time opened the Reward, cash back account and Rainy day saver. I have been enjoying the preferential rate on the savings account by opening the Reward account.

Checking they have never taken the monthly £5 fee and note today they have closed down my cash back account without warning.

However happy to keep them for the savings side.

Presumably because you never met the criteria for Blue Rewards. It is covered in the T&C that they will close accounts where you haven't paid in the required £800 per month etc.

I have met the criteria and paid in more than the required amount hence the reason I get a preferential rate on the saving account. Also the Blue Rewards account is still open.

Several including myself have reported seeing the Blue Rewards account listed after it had been closed. If you had met the criteria, the fee would have been taken, I suggest keeping an eye out for your next interest payment as closure of the Cashback Rewards account is not a good sign (normally happens a couple of weeks after Blue Rewards is ended).

Hi, wondering if anybody me who’s been paid knows the answer to this:

28 days since my switch completed has passed. I’ve just messaged Barclays, and they now claim the 28 days only started after my second direct debit was debited from the account with them, which was the 8th January.

That’s not what they previously told me, nor how I read it? The T&C’s said you needed to transfer two active direct debits, and I did?

Theyre telling me I am eligble but it won’t be paid now until up to the 21st February.

Barclays have been winging it with a lot of this, and a lot of the experiences have varied. I had to chase, and had to make a branch visit, but got there in the end. I transferred 3 newly set up direct debits, one of them being paypal. Shortly after my transfer went through I made a purchase using paypal to trigger a DD payment from my Barclays account. My switch payment came through on the same day that the paypal DD went out. That was the first DD that had been paid from the account.
