Yes, it is annoying that it was necessary to sign up for Blue Rewards before the end of Nov for the switching incentive, meaning that you could not delay until a month in which you could meet the criteria.Johnny-Cage said:
Thx so might as well just leave now and write the £5 offmasonic said:
Yes, November's fee was charged on 5th December. Presuming you didn't already leave Blue Rewards, tomorrow you will pay another £5 fee and receive the £5 reward, both in respect of the calendar month of December. If you left Blue Rewards during December, then you won't pay any more fees or receive any more rewards.Johnny-Cage said:
I did pay the £5 fee in DecAmityNeon said:Johnny-Cage said:Completed switch 28th Nov £175 paid in today
Will wait until the 2nd DD is paid so get the £5 then ditch Blue Rewards
Johnny-Cage said:When should the £5 be credited for BR, I’ve had the £800 credited in n out and 2 DD’s last one didn’t go out until the 25th tho
You will not receive the £5 Loyalty Reward without also paying the £5 monthly membership fee; both occur on the second working day of the month, so you had/have nothing to gain by waiting this long to leave Blue Rewards.
Bit naughty tho charging £5 for Nov when my switch completed on the 28th Nov

I know others on this thread have brought up the subject of complaining about the horrible experience they've had switching to Barclays. If anyone's thinking about it, I'd definitely recommend doing so.
I complained through Resolver, ignored all the phone calls and e-mails they sent in response because I'd already set everything out in black and white and wasn't prepared to go through it all again and they still rewarded me £75. Just waiting for the switch incentive to come through now and if it doesn't they'll be getting another complaint!1 -
*checks account quickly to see if fee was taken* - no, it wasn'tIn the end my experience was fairly problem free.0

Quick question
I left BR yesterday and the account has now disappeared from the app.
opt’ed out of cashback rewards as well but that’s still listed in the app.
Will that drop off as well0 -
I didn't pay the £800 in so far and today I had no £5 reward (for last 2 DD taken) and no fee taken. I left the blue rewards for the moment also.
Personally, will keep the account though as co-op is the only one I could likely get a bonus for until HSBC offer one that has a clause of no benefits from FD after my move to them as that's my oldest switch.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Yes, there is a delay to allow any final cashback to be paid and claimed. It is mentioned in the email confirming you left Blue Rewards.Johnny-Cage said:Quick question

I'm the same, I opened the account and started the switch on 30th November, joined Blue Rewards, then paid £800 in early December, had two different Direct Debits pay out over the course of December. Every says that they take the BR £5 fee and pay in the £5 reward on the 2nd of the month, but neither have happened this month yet. Also I've not had the switch cash yet, though the terms were 28 working days, so by my reckoning for those of us who did the switch on the last day of November, the 28th working day will be sometime late next week (10th-12th January) depending on what Christmas/New Year days they count as working days. I'll wait until then before I start messaging them and asking where the money is. Cannot wait to switch out! Disappointed the Nationwide offer has gone, was going to go to them before going to First Direct!zedonk said:Is anyone else still waiting for the switching cash? I was only able to open the account, start the switch and sign up for Blue Rewards on 30 Nov, due to problems with Barclays verifying my address, so I imagine I'll be one of the last to get the cash but I'm starting to worry it's not coming now. Could really use it as my shower's just stopped working!

They did take the BR fee on 2nd December. And in the (just under) an hour since my last message, they have taken the January £5 and awarded the December BR £5, which I've transferred straight to the main account. Just got the wait for the switch cash now, which I still imagine will be late next week. After that I'll be going all Stewie Griffin on them! :-Pmasonic said:
