It’s being reported today that the £150 cost of living payment to people in receipt of PIP has been quietly cancelled.

As I said on the other thread that you posted the same link on, there was never going to be another for those that are only claiming disability benefits. The only one this year was paid in June/July. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/cost-of-living-payment#disability-cost-of-living-payment-eligibility
That’s not true. People in receipt of PIP were due to get another £150 payment this month.

Only one £150 COL payment for people in receipt of PIP and other disability benefits has been scheduled to be paid in the tax year 2023 to 2024 and that is the one that was paid back in July. Although the guidance has been updated a number of times (last time being back in mid October) the guidance has always indicated that only one £150 payment would be made and from the outset that was always intended to be in the summer.

  • Today both my wife and I got our winter fuel payment advice, if its the same amount as last year, £250,then hers says she's to get that, but mine says 500,(including the 300living allowance) my total for household should be  £800 pound combined,or it was when I went to school! Am I missing something here? Along with £50?

You are not correct. As i advised on a previous thread to you, there was only ever one payment for those claiming disability benefits, the same as last year. I claim PIP myself and had the payment in June/July and the same last year.

Hmm.  Have a read of this to see if it clears anything up?

I didn't get the warm home discount last year either as I was switched from Bulb to Octopus and Octopus didn't seem to be paying it to new customers.
No that's not the reason.  You're only guaranteed the WHD if you get the guarantee credit part of pension credit (Core Group 1).
If you get savings credit, you may be part of Core Group 2 IF your property counts as intrinsically needing high energy costs.

Last year there was an eligibility checker but not so far this year.
Do you know the age and size of your home, and what sort of home is it (flat, semi-detached, etc.)?

Edit: this is assuming you're in England or Wales.  If you're in Scotland there isn't the property energy costs requirement, but you do have to apply via your supplier and I'm not sure if the savings credit part of Pension Credit does entitle anyone or not.  When they changed the scheme in England and Wales they seem to have tightened up the criteria in Scotland too.
That's not true. I am in the core group 2 where the qualifying benefits are:

    Qualifying benefits and tax credits

    The qualifying means-tested benefits are:

    • Housing Benefit
    • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
    • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
    • Income Support
    • the ‘Savings Credit’ part of Pension Credit
    • Universal Credit
I get the savings credit part of the pension credit.

Being in receipt of pensions  savings credit does not guarantee core group 2 status, as Spoonie said you also need to be deemed as living in a home with a high energy cost score too. It explains this on the link you posted.
I do come into core group 2. I have high energy costs but I don't want to post details on her. I see no reason why it should change as I've received it ever since it started. I missed out last year because Bulb moved me to Octopus and you need to be with Octopus for a certain length of time to get the WHD.

They changed the whole scheme last year, so receiving it in prior years is irrelevant.

Your property now has to qualify, not just you actually having high bills.  It's a theoretical calculation based on the age, type and size of your home.

If you didn't get it last year there is a chance you might qualify this year as they've lowered the threshold for what counts as 'high energy cost score', but if you live in a small and/or relatively new house, or a flat, then it's still unlikely.
