Evening all... I have sort of flown...
Mr T delivered and I put away.
Made the four individual quiches (pastry and filling from scratch!). One in my tum for lunch, the other three now in the freezer for lunch on another day.
Have chicken chorizo casserole in the slow cooker for dinner so just need to do some veg now.
Have been fretting a bit about Storm Ciaran today, though it seems my area has gone from amber for tomoz to just yellow, but listening to the wind out there now, it's quite brisk but fortunately more westerly so trees shouldn't fall on my house.
The spare room gibble can wait another day!
Stay safe peeps... xxx

Cuppa and cake had with friends - enjoyable time but my goodness, when was a cup of tea and slice of cake £8.50!!! Trendy cafe but very uncomfy wooden benches. I prefer a Yorkshire tea on my own sofa! Nice to see friends though.Small shop done at Lidl which will last until Sunday when I have a delivery coming. Back to work tomorrow, WFH as normal and thankful I don’t have to venture out in the bad weather (driving that is, goes without saying I’ll be out seeing to the animals).
I really hope you are all safe and warm and DRY. Xx10 -
CoG .. the only rule is posts have to include something about flying monday-friday .. you can add as much or as little as you like so long as there is a flying bit in there.. even if it is 'paired up 1 pair of socks and put a lolly stick in the bin.. ' .. it can be a lonely life and somedays I don't get time or opportunity to chat to anyone else.. so I waffle on here.
I have 1 beast in bed.. and 2 being brushed.. Squeak is plaiting Pixie.. the age gap is closing again by the look of it and they are leaving Dot behind in her immaturity..
Secondary school application deadline was was yesterday.. now to wait until March to hear what she has been allocated. So proud of DD1, she bought herself a bed.. it was very much necessary but she got something for herself, she is having the guilt over it but I won't hear it.. she deserves nice things and a comfy unbroken bed with a clean mattress.. it is the most important thing she needs right now.I am useless today..
I have 1 item I still neet to dig out to parcel up.. someone has offered a very low price on a very expensive coat.. it's just rude. You wouldn't do that in M&S!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)10 -
And the wind is now getting wilder out the back. I think it's decluttering a lot of pine needles/leaves from the trees in the park at the bottom of the garden. I hear Stuff (presumably pine cones) hitting the kitchen windows...
Dinner eaten... washing up about to be done...

Returning back to the fold after a weekend at my Mum's doing a whole load of gardening (between showers), shopping and generally things she can't reach (as I don't think 92 is an appropriate age to be standing on stepladders or chairs) e.g. reading meters, testing smoke alarms. I set up her new router but there seems to be an issue with the PC itself so had lots of phone calls with my brother who is chief in charge of her IT (he only does Linux and I do Windows - so Mum has to have Linux and I steer well clear). Mr N made sense of her new central heating timer and adjusted clocks etc. Yesterday Mum and I went to BILs funeral; had a lovely hour's drive there in the sun and no traffic but a horrendous return trip in the rush hour, semi-dark and torrential rain. The funeral went well and I enjoyed meeting up with 7 step-siblings and their families, I don't see many of them that often. Mr N drove home (3hrs) and although the first half was very wet, the second wasn't bad and the rain hadn't reached Herts/Essex.
Today was different. I put one load of washing on after starting to empty our suitcase, hung it out and it began to rain within minutes. I set off for work and it rained really heavily for half the journey but was dry for the rest. Slight drizzle on the way home but who knows what tomorrow will bring.
CoG the lovely flyladies put up with my long inane rambling so yours is light relief.
Valli glad your mum finally has a diagnosis but sorry to hear it.
General hugs to all; I've only really skim-read while I was away.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Thanks narc0lepsy and pigpen.I administered OH's last eye drops of the day, washed up and set up the breakfast things for tomorrow and am just about to administer eye ointment, which has to be done immediately before going to sleep. Then I'll clean my teeth and go to bed myself.Night all.9

Morning all. I do hope you're all safe and well and in one piece.
I woke at 4.00 to complete silence. We haven't had the overnight onslaught of wind and rain that we had initially expected here - the forecast is now for rain gradually getting heavier by lunchtime and then the main storm to hit at about 1pm. I shall have to take Rosie out for a quick walk by 11.00 or not at all. One of my neighbours has just gone up the lane with his dog. I need at least to finish my cuppa first!
Otherwise I am planning on a gentle day with a few little admin jobs followed by a quick run round doing the dailies, then prepping Christmas cake, mincemeat and pudding mixes (I'll do the final mixing. baking and steaming tomorrow), with some photo sorting thrown in for good measure [pun intended]. Last year when I gave my DC their goodies that it would probably be the final batch of home-made fare, but I'm well up for it again this yearand in my book Stir-up Sunday (this year it's on 26th December) is far too late to start. Hopefully by the weekend there will be at least 4 puddings, 4 cakes and about 7 jars of mincemeat in the larder fridge, ready for collection. Oh, and two birthday cakes for me - one for my natal day and the other for my heart bypass anniversary! Fortunately the fruit cakes won't need freezer space, as there isn't any atm.
Stay warm and dry if you can, and if you have to go out, walk/drive carefully xxx10 -
Good morning all xx
Feargal has a new bulb so I could see driving home last night. Wonderful 😊 Cards and presents dropped off at DSil's. DB was home too which was a lovely surprise as I thought he was down on his boat. Coffee and a catch up then home, put out the bin and recycling box, get changed into my scruffs, and flop. I was in bed for 9.15. Shattered.
First day of the new system at work was ermm interesting. If you can imagine: same office, same colleagues, same IT, different job. I'm taking heart from the fact that no-one else knew what they were doing either. And today they've arranged the Phlebotomy Admin training .... because relearning my job isn't enough apparently. 🙃
I'm up, made my bed, got dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and supped a brew. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I head off. Annual Leave next week is dangling like a carrot in front of me. 🥕
Hope everyone is safe and dry especially darn sarf friends.

Morning all
Lots going on here, I have caught up on the news. Out for a family meal last night and had two small glasses of wine so didn't sleep. I like an odd glass of wine but I really think I should give it up all together as it makes me have really weird dreams.
Today is day 2 of my 3 days off work. Yesterday I took myself off to a favourite beauty spot and did a 7 mile walk/jog in the mud. It was brilliant, I had one little anxious wobble on a path I didn't know but literally gave myself a talking to and got through it.
Today I have new dining chairs coming so might not go far. DH is not well either with pain and fatigue so feel a bit guilty leaving him.
Like someone else said the dehumidifier is going non stop to try and dry the washing. I really want to defrost the freezers and I do need to get the hoover out. Have a good Thursday all, hope the paid stuff is OK Round x
