It's that time of year again when I struggle to get motivated to do anything including work, therefore I thought I would head back here and join you lovely people to try and get myself motivated as there is so much I need to get done. Since I am starting on Thursday I'll not do tasks from the first 3 days of this week.
Thursday
Attend uni classes
Do required paid work.
Order the curtain rail and wood for the sitting room (have decided to put curtains up to try and make the house warmer as only have blinds at the moment).
Laundry
Speak to DH about whether we need a skip or just take rubbish to the recycling centre.
Get uni revision notes up to date (as only 6 weeks until exams)
Send over my info for the card swap
Clean the window in the bedroom
Declutter along the side of the bed.
Dust the surfaces in the master bedroom and dust for cobwebs.
Speak to DH about taking unwanted clothes to the local clothing bank.
Check finances and make a list of payments due out this month.
Answer the solicitors email
Water the plants
Find out if PCM is only in person or if I can attend online.
Make a festive food list and decide when to purchase.
That's all for me today. Hope everyone has a good Thursday and hugs to those who need/want them.

Morning all
I see today is bedding day. I'll save that for tomorrow when the weather appears to be better so it can go on the line to dry - we're forecast a lot of rain today.
Weather was a bit rough in the night but not as bad as expected although the torrential rain did wake me up at one point. It's quiet and still-ish at the moment but I think we're in the eye of the storm. It's due to change shortly.
Log delivery is scheduled for lunchtime today - I hope they manage to make it through.
Will do my food store cupboard though and check dates - I pulled a can of soup out the other day and it was two years out of date!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

My admin is done, and Rosie and I have been out for a very wet 45-minute walk. It's good to be back in a warm house (only 18 degrees, but I'm very comfortable in my thick fluffy jumper).
I have put the chicken carcase in to boil up for our lunchtime soup and thrown sausages and veg for tonight's meal into the SC with a can of tomatoes that DH won for being joint Slimmer of the Week. Now sitting with a nice hot coffee, about to go and fetch another photo album to sort through. I will do the weighing and measuring of ingredients this afternoon (or possibly this evening) but may delay the baking until Saturday, as tomorrow afternoon I've arranged to visit my friend who's had a hip replacement and is now joyfully free of pain - the delay will allow extra time for the dried fruit to soak in something to enhance the flavour9 -
Hi ladies
First half of work day done, just having lunch. Puppy's bedding has been in the wash, and will go in the TD shortly. I have stripped and remade DD's bed ready for when she gets home from her sleepover later.
Just lit the fire, will need to head outside shortly for more coal. Will be feeding the animals at 3pm today to make sure it's done whilst it's still light.
Take care all xx9 -

have skimmed the thread but in fairness we have had to put in the 'what if Dad is ill' plan into action, so I slept at theirs last night, so mum was on familiar ground because Dad had collapsed and fallen (sequence unknown), long story short another infection (UTI?) which sent him wobbly, delirious, and off to hospital for intravenous antibiotics and to swear at nurses, us and anyone else he felt like bad-mouthing because he doesn't know where he is or whats happening but knows when he needs the loo and tries to get up and go... Sister has come up now and taken over (?) so she's got mum, they've gone out for lunch and then they will go to hospital and she'll stay there tonight. I took my sleeping bag - best idea I think.
I got a call from the neighbour she knocked on the door of when she couldn't use the phone...exactly panning out as we had predicted.
Mum has 'helpfully' tried to pinch some of my stuff, packed up her stuff in my bag and made me a bed of towels on the sofa...and is convinced he's been in an accident. TBH I'm glad of the break.

@ionafan you are putting me to shame with your Christmas baking preparations. I only make the cake (I buy an M&S pudding and I don't like mince pies so just buy a few for OH)) and although the last two years I have made two cakes (one for us and a small one for some friends) I think I"ll just do ours this year. When I've been doing my Waitrose delivery orders I've noticed they now have the brandy soaked dried fruit in the exact weights needed for making the Delia recipe, so will get some of that soon. I'll make the cake in a couple of weeks.@V@Valli I'm so sorry to hear about your dad being taken ill. I hope that the antibiotics see off the uti quickly and he can come home.I woke at 3am and moments later I heard torrential rain. It didn't last long though but continued to rain steadily before I went back to sleep. This morning I administered the first lot of eye drops then the postman arrived and I had to sign for one item. I was also pleased to receive some gravy salt from my brother. My mother used to use Burdall's gravy salt but they stopped making it 20 years ago. Someone who lived in the village where the factory was started up a cottage industry producing it but under anther name. You can't buy it around here and the website was down so I asked my brother so send me some. We are having cottage pie on Saturday and it's an essential ingredient.I then went out to get the paper and some blueberries to replace the ones I'd decorated the kitchen floor with yesterday. As it wasn't raining for once I also took the opportunity to have a walk (only a mile and a half but better than nothing). While I was out our neighbour with the water leak rang me to say that the managing agent had responded to the further email I'd sent her yesterday. They are sending another roofer tomorrow to have a look. Let's hope this results in quick action as looking isn't going to fix the leak. When I got back I rang one of the friends who is coming at the weekend, made our lunch, washed up, administered more eye drops and then set up the tv for OH with a film about Shakespeare's later life that I'd recorded on Monday. The laundry then arrived back and as I was putting it away I discovered in a laundry bag a cotton jumper that I'd washed earlier in the week but forgotten to dry. It smelled ok so I threw it in the TD for 20 min and will let it finish on a rack. I then washed up the breakfast and lunch things and am now about to return a call from my brother.10

@Valli - sorry to hear about your Dad, but at least you had a plan in place - well done!
Kitchen store cupboard cleared of out of date stuff and everything else put back neatly.
Wood men turned up so I supervised the delivery and positioning of the bags in the wind and pouring rain. Now have enough to last until just before Christmas I hope.
Chicken and leek casserole in the slow cooker for dinner later.
Off to DS's next door in a bit when he finishes work (he works from home apart from the odd day or two in London) for a G&T and to sit in his conservatory and watch the weather...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
