Got soaked last night trick or treating so had takeaway. Meant less washing up this morning but that's done, along with a quick stop to Mr T. Doing more than I was, but still not at the level I wantMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Not much doing today, but bed made and kitchen clean so Im ok with that! WM x 1 and dehumidifer on and earning its keep. I also decluttered my medicine box so I know what I need (not as much as I thought) and my toiletries cupboard which mainly involved me moving stuff I never use into the bathroom so I can get rid of it!
Then I went up to the bedroom that has disappeared underneath CS piles and my one effort involved actually taking something out of the CS pile and putting it back in the wardrobe!!LOL (well, it was a big fleece jumper that is perfect for winter layering...of course Im keeping it!).10 -
3 of 4 parcels done.. I wrote my address as the delivery address so it would appear it CAN take that long when you need to get a refund because you have a squid for a brain.
received parcels dealt with..
Squeaks hospital appointments added to diary.. I need to ring tomorrow to make Pixie a nurse appointment for the wc 15/11.
Cats all need worming.. PumPkin is scooty on her booty which usually means wrigglers are about.
I have hanging planters to hang up when I decide where..
I'm sure I had something else I needed to do..

We'll that rain was fun! NOT! Monday evening, the road resembled a river when we went to put the recycling out. Yesterday we went into town for mineral lick for the sheep and dog food, yes I do live an interesting life. The river has burst its banks, and the road past the Lidl turn off was closed.
Today, because the rain has been pouring through the barn roof, we have been doing more emergency repairs. Two ladders, two "old" people, two planks of wood, a trolley jack, a farm jack, a large piece of metal that was once part of a gate, and of course some balers twine. An hour later an "it'll have to do for now" repair completed before the roof gives in. I thought we were doing well, it's already Wednesday and nothing had needed repair yet this week. Last week was a gate that needed fixing, the week before the gear linkage on the quad bike. Never a dull moment here.
So far today, other than the above, I've picked the remaining apples from three trees, cooked a chicken, made twelve small and one large mince pie and sorted sausages for tea. Also peeled veg. DW on once.

Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxThat sounds a nightmare and puts our rain/roof problems into perspective. All that and you still had a baking session - I am in awe!@pigpen what a day. Major virtual hugs coming your way.11 -
Hi @Cloth_of_Gold, and welcome to our "family" here. Not a nightmare really. Just the story of our lives. We moved here ten years ago, to a house with no heating, no pipes for hot water, holes in the floor. Then outside broken gates, missing fences, mud everywhere, etc. So having semi retired, we not work twice as hard as we ever did, for no money. But we wouldn't change it at all. We now have space to grow our own food, meat, veg, fruit. 13 acres of green. And although they are not within view, we know all of our neighbours. Great lifestyle, and all the hard work keeps us young. Off to do some knitting now.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.11 -

Before going to church I ironed a pair of cords and a shirt that I'd washed as I'd spilled something on it so no point in sending it to the laundry. I then rang the managing agent a couple of times about the roof (no reply) and so took the card and parcel to the PO and then drove to church. On the way back I stopped off and bought half a bottle of wine for this evening to cheer myself on such a cold, damp, day, and also a loaf of bread and some of OH's favourite crisps, which aren't easily available. Just as I was about to go in the front door a Waitrose delivery driver arrived - early again! He brought the things up and but it was time to prepare lunch. Just as i was finishing lunch the laundry man came ( I don't think that handing over thing to be washed and ironed counts as flying does it?)After lunch I put the fridge things away and started to wash up but OH wanted to pay for the residents' parking renewal online. He isn't very good with such things and so I have to help. I took off my chief cook and bottle washer hat and donned my IT support hat and helped with the application. The post came and to our amazement we received out first Christmas card - a scene of a snow-covered country church and poinsettias! The sender, a long-standing friend, has bipolar disorder so that might explain it.Our neighbour then rang me about the roof and her ongoing problems with water coming into her flat and asked if I'd heard from the MA. As I hadn't I rang them again (still no reply) so sent an email. It had stopped raining so I was going to go out for my walk but it was nearly time for tea (tea in the southern sense, not the northern one) so I decided to wait. By the time we'd had tea though it was starting to get dark so I gave up on the ideaI was a bit fed-up by this time so watched a bit of Four in a Bed, which is just the sort of mindless drivel I needed at that point. I then had a long call from an elderly friend and did an Ocado order for her and then made our supper. We are now going to ring another elderly fried and then I will wash up.I worry that my posts are too long and detailed (i.e. boring). Please tell me if this is the case - honestly, I shan't be offended.
