ACH... I have a leak in my boat..
OH is having a freaking fannyflap because he has to book christmas holidays and allegedly the house are gone and I swear I am going to slap him if he doesn't stop speaking to me in that tone of voice.. He has been told.. and flounced upstairs with his frilly panties in a knot... I have way more important things to address
*deep breath* ....
In my next life I am being a cat.. or being a hermit and living up a mountain.. surrounded by lava (amazon will still deliver so I'm good..) with gun turrets and anti-person missiles.. why is nothing ever nice and simple?

@Natty68 Bruce looks very cute 😍
@pigpen the ones we love tend to be the ones that get on our nerves most. I think being a hermit could be niceMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

@Natty68, wee Bruce is gorgeous
I am feeling really behind! last night the kitchen got done - worktops wiped, cooker top cleaned, general tidy up and dishes all done.
Tonight:
HHI
At least one load of laundry on and hung to dry. This will be bedding as beds were stripped at the weekend.
Stay on top of the kitchen, make sure everything tidied away after dinner.10 -
Hi ladies
I am back from our ‘break’. Planned to stay longer but I just couldn’t. Mums mental health is a disaster, her dog kept trying to attack our dog, there are SO.MANY.RULES, it was very very exhausting and we had to leave. Three hours sleep on the first night due to their dog barking all night long. Unfortunately mum hasn’t helped herself at all with her MH for many years, and resents me for attempting to help. So I have to now accept I have to stop trying to help and focus on my own little family. Hence leaving early and getting us all back into our nest.
I have lit the fire, fed the animals, set the WM going and dragged some bits out of the freezer for tea. I am on annual leave until Thursday and, apart from taking the children trick or treating in the village later and meeting a friend for a hot chocolate tomorrow I have no plans at all. Bliss.Natty - Bruce looks gorgeous x
Valli - hugs to you and your mum xx
Piggers - I hope he unknots his knickers soon 🤣🤣 xx
YL - there is an onmbudsman type thing, definitely look into it. Lots of hugs to you xx

YORKSHIRELASS said:CofG DS lives in a flat where the roof has been leaking for months. The landlord isn't interested and the letting agents are useless. Him and his mate pay £1000 a month for this dump and are frightened of making a fuss in case they get kicked out.
Long 9.5 hours at the paid stuff. Appraisal went well but they do tell you what you want to hear don't they. Maybe that's being negative. I can't see my workload reducing much though.
I only have tomorrow at the paid stuff then a few much needed days off when I can gently catch up with the flying and get some rest. Our managing agents are far from perfect but they are not too bad. I hold them to account all the time but we own the flat so we're not in danger of being kicked out. The problem is that we have had a survey done and the roof needs significant work, and we have had estimates of £100K plus the managing agent will charge 10% on top for managing the project, although I will try to negotiate that down.We don't have enough money in the sinking fund and the MA doesn't want to financially embarrass people by doing the work before we have saved up for it, so to speak. The costs would be divided by 14 so with the money we already have it would be around £7K each. We would rather go ahead asap as it needs doing and will only get worse. Also we are spending thousands on patch-up jobs. I think most of the other flat owners would feel the same but I know there is one person who says she doesn't have the money, but her flat is the one currently being affected.10 -
Trick or treating done for another year. Tea scoffed, DW on, TD on and cuddled up by the fire. Well DD isn’t cuddling she’s being a hormonal sassy mess but that’s another story!10

@pigpen I know exactly how you feel. I sometimes look on Rightmove for a nice cave somewhere remote.@n@Natty68 your puppy looks gorgeous. This morning I washed the tablecloth again with Glow White but although it was better it still had a bit of a blue tinge. I decided to throw caution to the wind and wash it yet again but this time with some bleach. I had no idea how much to add so just added a slug and hoped for the best. I then rinsed it a million times and it has come out looking great and not even a hint of a bleach smell. We then went to two banks to try and finally sort out DH's PIN numbers, as the cards were thought lost and cancelled. For reasons I shan't bore you with it's been a real faff getting everything back to square one but finally we managed it and all cards are now up and running again. On the way back we called into a pub we like and had a celebratory drink and then it was back for lunch. After lunch I went into the basement and read the electricity meter, which is a slight faff as it involves removing two awkward padlocks and opening some stiff metal doors, but I got there. We don't want a smart meter as I think they will introduce variable pricing at some point and charge you more for using electricity during the day/evening but they can't do that with our 'dumb' meter. Having got the reading I input it online and our usage last month was two and half times the previous month - winter is well and truly here it seems. After that I put some bedding on to wash and then set off for my walk but yet again it started to rain withing minutes of my setting off. I persevered for a while but it started to come down heavier so I gave up and returned home. I will just have to accept that I'm not going to do 6K steps today. I'm now drying said bedding and thinking about making supper.11

Evening all...
Huge hugs to ASB, Valli and Piggers and anyone else who may need them ...
I didn't make the individual quiches in the end because I realised I didn't have enough plain flour! (Plenty of bread flour, but I have found that's too heavy for short-crust pastry). So I've added that to the Mr T order due tomoz and will make them then instead. (All the other ingredients are still in date).
Did a good job on the kitchen surfaces and floor - they are looking looking good.
Sadly Agent Million hasn't knocked on the door today (but there's still time!).
Side yard now all tidy ready for the log delivery on Thurs - but, given the provider and I are both now in an Amber Met Office weather wind warning area for that day I'm not sure the delivery will happen at this stage.
Slightly concerned about the Amber weather warning but as long as the wind is more WSW or W rather than SW my property should be safe from falling trees.
Stay safe peeps xxxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
