A very happy Friday, Potters, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend and will enjoy the new week.
For any members who are feeling poorly or low in spirits, do get well soon. Love from us all. 3

Wow! £36.60 potted LMD!!!! 😯 Brilliant potting and very well done! 😀
Plus £5 from Monzo referral!! I'm not even going to ask. 🤨

Oh it's lovely to have the nights that much lighter Siju, and it won't be long before that hour goes on and it's even lighter, on the 31st of this month. I'm definitely not one to wish time on but it'll be really lovely!!

As for the rain, it really makes you wonder! 😰
We took DD out this morning to look for a mobile scooter. Sadly, she's got to the stage where her MS has made it a lot worse for her getting around. At present she's using crutches, but they're not doing her back any good at all.
Anyway, she saw one that would be ideal, we think so too. We're going back tomorrow to be sure it'll go in their car alright, if so we'll be so happy to know she's safe! She'll walk as and when she can, as long as she has us or her 2 girls who are both marvellous to and with her.

Well, tomorrow has already arrived and we've been back to the shop, she was still so very happy with it and it goes in their car boot perfectly and we're safely home with it!! 🥰 T and I are so thrilled to see her so very happy with it, plus we'll know she'll be safe on it!! 😍
They're off to Butlins next week with their 2 DDs, their DHs and their 5 children, also their elder DS, his DF & their 3 daughters. Middle DS is unable to go due to the college he teaches at, younger DS is still at college. Our DD will definitely need the scooter to go to and from the accommodation and the main area.

I hope you enjoyed your Sunday morning lie in, bliss I bet after 3 busy nights. 😀
Very well done with your £6 potted!!
Flipping heck this all turned into an epistle!

Great news about more coins potted and pot getting heavier Ant

    Have a brilliant weekend folks!

Ooh I'm here again and it's still March!

Well guess who nearly got scammed last week.  Yes, yours truly who "was never going to fall for any of that".  Fortunately I didn't lose any money (especially when I'm a joint account holder with my mum) but my word they are good.  In a nutshell we had a parcel delivered, which I saw on my phone from the doorbell while I was out for tea with friends, and immediately got a text saying they couldn't deliver and as I'd missed several attempts I now had to pay.  Clearly wasn't concentrating (it was semi-plausible as although DH was home he could've been asleep, out with the dog or got his earphones on and not seen/heard the caller) and of course clicked the link.  I appreciate that so much can be done in banking apps these days, so I could block and freeze my card/account details immediately.  As it happened of course he did receive the parcel. I then got called last Saturday from someone purporting to be from Chase and, to be fair, he didn't ask me any personal information (as he pointed out when I challenged him) and the card details he quoted were the old ones I cancelled immediately I clicked on a bad link.  Chase of course confirmed that no one had actually called me from them.  I did a virus scan on my phone and all was OK but then someone else called saying they were from Santander fraud dept (other accounts were mentioned in the intial call), but when I challenged him and said I'd call them myself he hung up.  All my banks confirmed nothing had been taken.  Phew!!

As it was my aforementioned Chase account that was almost compromised, I decided to close it there and then rather than wait for a few more weeks' roundups so I cashed out what was left in it (about £200 when the interest suddenly appeared on closing) and that has moved into my savings account.  I'm not sure how much of that is classed as SPC money as the balance is built on what's left of the money my mum very kindly gave me a year ago to match what she'd given my brother to help him move house, but I'm sure I'll be able to roughly work it out when the time comes.  I'm saving a weekly sum by standing order to build it up, so will only count what I manually add to it I guess, plus whatever is in Plum.

Crikey @MrsShazbat we have to be so careful at all times don’t we? It just takes a momentary lapse in concentration and could happen to anyone.
Ive added another 6 or 7 pounds in cash to my pot so far this week.
    Hope everyone is ok

A good reminder there @MrsShazbat that due to these scammers we have to second guess our every action!

So great for your DD @Sue-UU to find a suitable scooter. I didn't realise how many different types were out there until we bought one for my FIL. Trying to find one that not only fits in the boot, but also that was light enough to lift in was quite a task (my MIL and FIL have to combine forces to lift it in).  Your DD will have so much more independence now.

These scammers make me mad @MrsShazbat. They are so clever and it's always when you are distracted that these things happen. Really glad you were able to act swiftly once you realised what was happening. Sadly, some are not so fortunate.

Well it was a busy weekend,  DD and DGS came to stay unexpectedly as DD and SIL are house hunting and looking to move closer to us. Our house was filled with noise and toys and I loved it but the peace and tranquility on Sunday evening was lovely too 🤣

Another fiver in the pot. Enjoy your week 😀

A very happy Monday, SPCers, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend and will enjoy the new week.

That was so very lucky MrsShazbat
As Ant rightly says we have to be so very careful, so vigilant too. Those blighters would have us every which way given the chance.
I'm so pleased you had a really good weekend with the family, saying that it's always nice to enjoy the peace. 😀
Very well done with your money potted Ant.!

    Brilliant potting LMD!!

To be honest Siju, it was more a case of being sure to get one that was alright for her DH to put in and out as our DD doesn't have much strength in her arms due to the MS. Sadly her DH does as little as possible! Their eldest daughter has recently bought a 2nd hand car and she and her mum go shopping together, but the mobile 🛵 we've bought is fine for DGD to get in and out. It's a job though as you too have experienced! All the best for your DFIL.

I'm pleased you had a lovely weekend with your DD and DGS visiting you. It's lovely to enjoy all the hustle and bustle especially when it comes to children visiting, but lovely to enjoy the peace and quiet when they've gone. It'll be lovely to have to have your DS and family close to you, though not an easy time to buy! Very good luck to them.
    Well done with the potting!
Have a good Wednesday and Thursday and a lovely week folks!
