Hi, re the - Pay £1,500+ in once. does anyone know if that has to be in one go or can you make a couple of payments say £1000 and the £500 later?
    thanks,
    linda

You can pay in say £100, then take it out, then repeat 14 times until you have hit the £1500 target.
    This is unwise.
Martin Lewis himself gave the advice I’m just passing it on
I would be surprised if he had personal experience with this and would agree that it is unwise as you are likely to get picked up by fraud algorithms if you do so many repeat transactions in a short period of time

I applied on Saturday. Received an email today (Tuesday) asking for three months payslips. Has anyone else been asked for payslips, and if so how soon did you receive an answer after submitting them?

I'm in a similar position. I applied for the Premier account on the 27th, on the 30th they requested my recent  bank statement and 3 payslips and I've not heard anything since

I'm sure they are just taking their time.

When i applied. I got nothing for about 7 days, not even an email telling me at the point i applied, that i had actually applied.
I then got a couple of emails and 3 days later i got the card and Pin letters in the post.

I've had 2 "welcome to your HSBC UK Advance Bank Account" emails, the first on 27/10, a day or so after applying, and the same one on 4/11. Each stated what would happen over the following 7 days. I've received my card and PIN (a little worryingly, due to our local mail delivery doing delay-and-bulk deliveries, they both came arrived on the same day) but I've nothing specific (as of yet) regarding my sort code and account number (though these are on the card) or telephone banking details.
  • I applied on Friday.  There was a 'technical error' and they asked me to resubmitted my application. However, the credit searchandes on my file. I called HSBC who confirmed it was 'waiting to be processed' so I didn't resubmit. On Sat I got a text saying we are very busy and we're reviewing your application. Not heard anything since.

@catalonia13   Is that a requirement for simply opening the account?

They used to require £1750/month pay-in but dropped that requirement some time ago.  I haven't worried about a minimum pay-in since October 2021 and I haven't followed this thread to know whether it is just for the initial deposit.

Oh, they didn't ask me for a bank statement. It seems to be individual to each applicant

I opened both accounts last week but had been waiting for payday to deposit the funds and make the card purchases. Just saw that the offer's been pulled - anyone know if I'm still eligible since I opened the accounts before the pull, or am I out of luck because I didn't meet the requirements in time?
