Last year I searched online and found a professional oven cleaners because try as I might, I just couldn't get it properly clean. He wasn't very expensive and did a great job. It desperately needs doing again and I rang hi a few days ago and left a message but he hasn't come back to me.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I see today is lounge and hallway. I'll do that - I also want to give the porch a proper clean - hasn't been done for ages. It's shared with upstairs so it's always a bit of "well should I do it or should they?"
Never did make the meatballs last night - had trashy dinner instead (Southern fried chicken fillet from the freezer!) so I'll do them today before the mince goes off.
Mr T due this morning. Just checked the receipt. Bonus on the substitution. I don't drink red wine but do use it in cooking and needed a new bottle. Ordered the cheapest Cab Sauv at £5.75. They've substituted it with a bottle costing £8.00 but for some reason have only charged me £4.32. Not quite sure how they've worked that out, but I'll not complain!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hi all. Didn't get back on monday, or yesterday.
I made the mincemeat on monday. Also cooked liver, bacon and onions. Cooked a lambs heart and small piece of lamb. Made and cooked four hunters chicken. Made a damson crumble. Half the liver and two chicken now frozen as ready meals. Also helped DGD1 to carve the pumpkin she asked me to grow. It's huge!! I keep expecting to see six white mice turn into horses to pull it. Much pumpkin soup to appear on the menu, I think.
Yesterday I sorted and bagged 15 bin liners full of clothes and shoes, none of them mine. All either thrown out by DD1 or left by DD3. Filled the car, took them to the clothes for cash van. The last wasn't there! Rang the number, no reply! Ahhh! Took two jars full of old and foreign coins to the coin man, he's over stocked come back next year. Went to collect some blue bags (recycling), the place was shut. Took seven very old coins to the jewellers, high silver content, they offered me £18, but I have to wait till next week, when they've verified the coins. Did the shopping. Both got drenched in the rain. Spent the afternoon chilling.
Today, I've reloaded the DW, S-i-L had filled it. Cut up the lamb and heart for stew. Sorted the fatty bits and gristle for the dog. Loaded the washer.
List still to do. Put out washing, I live in hope. Probably dry washing in the dryer. Do second load. Phone the council about blue bags. Water in the tunnel. Think about the weekend, nine visitors coming! Must child proof the house, the youngest is only one.
Hope today goes better for you asb. Hoping your friend is better soon, narco. Enjoy the, relative, peace this week pigpen. Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.8 -
