soappie said:I've worn myself out. Oven is now sparkling - it took ages.
Even took the door off and dismantled it so I could clean all three layers of glass.
Racks scrubbed and sparkling.
Oven bulb replaced and more ordered as it was the last one.
I've just a few baking trays to find a new home for and then 'tis done.
I need to do my Mr T order for tomorrow then I fancy trying my hand at making some meatballs for dinner.
Last year I searched online and found a professional oven cleaners because try as I might, I just couldn't get it properly clean. He wasn't very expensive and did a great job. It desperately needs doing again and I rang hi a few days ago and left a message but he hasn't come back to me.

A busy day today. Earlyish this morning I went out and had my hair cut and then came back briefly before going to the shops. On the way back I bumped into our postman who said he had a parcel he would be delivering to us, in about half an hour. I waited for that and then suddenly remembered that I had someone coming between 11 and 12 to collect something so it was a good job I hadn't gone straight to the shops. After they had been I walked just over 2 miles to the supermarket and back as a contribution to my daily target of 6K steps, by which time it was time to prepare lunch. After lunch we went out to two banks to sort out issues relating to lost debit and credit cards and then to a charity shop and to a Little Waitrose to pick up a click and collect item. On our return I made us a hot drink and after that made some chocolate brownies for our visitors on Thursday. It was a bit of a faff and they turned out more cakey and less fudgey than I would have liked but the flavour is good I think. Then it was time to make our evening meal and wash up, and that's it.By the way, it occurred to me that the title of this thread is Weekly Flylady but I'm a man - does it matter? I wondered if you wanted to keep it a women-only 'space', in which case I'll stop posting.7

I have stacked the DW, still not done my admin (played mah jong instead) and made tea…well reheated Sundays leftovers. And now i’m in bed with a grumbling tum. oh i did one admin task, I’m in a health scheme, and can claim back some money towards my chiropodist, so it costs me about £10 instead of £42. I love that i can do it all on line now…they email me the receipt from the surgery and i email the scheme and no trees are harmed. Though I do keep some forms handy in case i get hospitalised again, as they have to be signed and stamped.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Long, long rubbish day here. Tomorrow is a new day is all I can say.
DW on, alarm set for 5.30am and fresh positive attitude to follow. Sleep well all xx8 -
Thank you Valli - that's really nice of you.
Being a FT carer can be a bit lonely and isolating so it's nice to have some friendly people to chat to, even it it's online.
I used to love playing mah jong but haven't played for years. One of the click and collect items was a jumper and the colour was called dijon, which made me think of Mr Mustard in Cluedo. That's another game I used to enjoy playing. I'd love to be able to play some board and/or card games again.9 -
CoG ... honestly we don't care if you are a giraffe.. if you are here and flying you belong and are welcome. As a carer of children with disabilities.. I feel the pain. Are you registered at the GP surgery and with the council as a carer? And make sure you are on everybodies priority list.. energy, water etc. The council may also offer grants for you to have some self care.. I have no idea if you access any of these things already but.. just in case.
My front room is utterly trashed again.. I managed to get the DW loaded, letter posted and a teeny tiny shop done .. We needed cat litter..OH then cleaned the trays while I sorted dinner and pack ups.
Girls all in bed.. I am sending all 4 to school tomorrow.. I then have 2 off thursday and 3 off Friday and everyone off next week..

- gym swim
- came home and Mr N had put a load of washing on. I mention this because yesterday, thinking I was being efficient, I put away most of the clothes from what I thought was washing off the line....when I mentioned that had it rained as one towel was damp, he looked at me in bemusement and said it hadn't been washed yet, he'd put things in the basket awaiting my return from the gym in case I had some stuff to add. Huh. So I tried to remember what I'd put away...........just lock me up.
- pruned a lot of perennials from the front garden as they are now all wet, flat and manky.
- planted some bulbs.
- Did more of a report. I wanted to finish it today but I haven't built up to efficient report writing this term yet so I keep being distracted by practically anything. Nearly there though.
- helped Mr N use TCB to get £24 cashback from his holiday insurance that he's been meaning to arrange.
- started working my way through a number of 'get £5' (or more) Amazon thingies in the MSE newsletter.
- made a pizza for dinner (how is that even interesting or flying?)
I've been getting some worrying messages from a dear friend, the disabled one who I shop for sometimes. She said recently that she had memory issues (she's about 10yrs older than me). Last week she left me a voicemail, very shaky, at just before 1am (!!) to say she thought I'd be in and she was in hospital having tests. I rang and messaged the next day but didn't get a reply till Sunday, still in hospital but said Monday would be good to ring. I said I'd text her first and got no reply till a text a couple of hours ago saying daughter put her on morphine (misspelt) and she's at the side of the town theatre. I don't have her daughter's contact details but if B has been put on morphine (possible, given her disability) then it explains the incoherence, coupled with mis-typing and predictive spelling. The town theatre isn't far from the hospital (although not the same one she was seemingly in on Sunday). So all I can do is text or maybe ring tomorrow and hope I get a response that is easier to understand, and/or maybe her daughter will monitor her phone if it's a problem. Very worrying.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all.Hope your morning has got off to a positive start ASB.
Narco, how worryingly. I have a similar issue here.
Oh no, as my DGDs would say.... I'm back to work today. Will see what flying I can get done between shifts.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
just put a wash on as the forecast is for dry…I’m resisting using the TD as much as possible but using it for towels is a no brainier…those things need it breezy to dry.
See CoG … you’re more than welcome. Must be lonely, sometimes, caring.
Might get some more kip.

Thank you Honey Bear7 -
Good morning my lovelies xx
I paid the rent on my home from work yesterday as planned. Pops must have gone shopping as he wasn't at home - so I let myself in to pick up the magazines and book he'd left out for me.
Not a bad afternoon, thank you iona. It dragged a bit that's all. That hasn't stopped my old friend, anxiety, from invading my psyche this morning. 🤷♀️ But I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and supped a brew. Autopilot 😉
Schools here are on holiday this week do my commute is much quieter / quicker.
Hope you're OK asb - my inbox is always open if you need to vent xx
Welcome aboard CoG 😊
Hope everyone has a good day.
