pigpen said:CoG .. that sounds like a super productive day!! I hate having people over because of all the work involved in the week before! I hoe you're not going to do things like that every day, you will exhaust yourself.. we are all about a little and often rather than a big blitz.. we occasionally do a blitz in one area when we have the time and energy.. it is all such hard work!
I sold an item while I was out so I need to package that up and get it flung off to its new home.. it is an item requiring batteries so I need to take those out before posting as they are not allowed without a sticker.. I might do that after my cuppa actually so I don't forget.
I know they are monstrously expensive but.. does anyone have any of the Ninja zerostick pans?? I need a new frying pan .Certainly not!I only do these sorts of things now and again. Having the carpets cleaned more or less forced me to do lots of other things too, although I must say that everything looks much better, not only the carpets so I'm pleased I made the effort. If only things would stay this way for a long time but dust and dirt seem to reappear remarkably quickly. The chap who came to do with the carpets was very nice and worked extremely hard. I got 3 quotes and they were by far the cheapest so I would use them again when I have the motivation to do all the preparation (probably in about 10 years
).
Do you sell on Ebay?My brother and his wife bought one of these a few weeks ago and they say it's really good. https://fromourplace.co.uk/products/always-essential-cooking-pan?variant=42608738599089

Valli said:welcome CoG... you'll find that getting into a routine is a massive help; we're all here because our homes AREN'T perfect...
I will do the takings/banking/I will...Thank you.Routines are a bit difficult for me because I am a full-time carer for my partner who has a significant disability and various health problems. I have to do pretty much everything and things aren't always very predictable in my life. I do my best though and I've had to learn to accept that some things will slip.4 -
Well done Cloth of Gold, you've moved mountains today. Please don't exhaust yourself before your guests are due - they come to your house to see you, not your spotless place. As long as there's plenty of food and enough to drink, and you spend time with them they'll be happy. Having said that, even I dust when guests are due and I really, really hate dusting. Generally I think that if the bins are emptied and I've flashed the vacuum cleaner around the pethair-strewn palce it's pretyt okay. Oh, and given the bathrooms a lick and promise.I've filed. The filing tray is empty. The filing stack no longer exists. I'm very proud of myself. Some of it had been there since last year. I've also sorted out a fat file in the filing cabinet and split it into two. At some point I'll go through the whole cabinet again and 'archive' stuff (the attic is a marvelous place) and throw quite a bit out but that can wait for another day.Flyladies, in the olden days when we all had crimsony passports if you renewed them early (up to six months, I think) you'd get your new passport back with those six months added on. Now that we all have blue/black passports, do you know if the extra time gets added on? Mine will expire at some point next year and I'd like to know if it's worth doing it early but can't find out about the potential extra or lost months.Ionafan, I've never thought about walking the Cotswold Way until you mentioned it and it's absolutely spectacular, and at about 106 miles, very doable in 10 - 12 days. However, the elevation is is much tougher than Hadrian's Wall, so it's not an easy hike by any stretch of the imagination. Once I've done the Hadrian's Wall 23 miles I skipped last time I'd be up for that, or section hiking it with anyone that would be up for it, tbh. (Accommodation costs are £££. If the blue hair-raising emoji were still available there would be plenty of those.)Better is good enough.6

I used to.. Their fees are a disgrace. I shift the childrens outgrown stuff and a few handmade bits on Vinted now.. just in the process of list a huuuuge box of 6-7 y/o stuff.. I tend to list in 5's because it is so boring and 5 is not too hard.. plus if you spread listing over a few days it pushes your stuff to the front and you sell more.
I have just added the ninja pans to my christmas list.. my husband has got no imagination at all and I write him a list or tell DD1 what I want and she subtley tells him.. it works for us.. he thinks he is surprising me and I get what I want.. it is rarely anything extravagant.. unlike these pans.. lol.. definitely a black friday and code kind of gift though.
I've started a hat for DIL for christmas.. I will do her matching mittens and clearing some yarn stash so that'll be her done. I need to knit a sorting hat next and Harpers frilly bonnet.

A few years ago I discovered about 15 years of bank and credit card statements in a cupboard and felt I ought to shred them; it took me forever. I now do my banking online and don't have paper statements any more thank goodness but there's still plenty of other paperwork to deal with.Re passports, according to this (admittedly old) post, you no longer get the unexpired time added to your new passport. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2018/09/passport-applicants-hit-out-after-being-given-shorter-than-expec/ At least they are being dealt with quickly at the moment. I renewed my expired passport a few weeks ago and it took only 6 days from making the online application to receiving it, which I thought was incredible.

Evening all.Thank you for the lists. Another day at the coal face survived / endured.
Small bits and pieces of evening flying done: dinner cooked (more freezer space liberated), WULTD, kitchen given a quick s&s, HHI. I’m now curled in pjs, nursing a drippy nose.
Day off tomorrow, with the plan including haircut and Mr M delivery. Anything else might be a bonus.7 -
my passport needs renewing but i’m waiting as i’m not travelling abroad while i’m on chemo tablets, i don’t want to explain neutropenia to someone abroad. Plus insurance might be prohibitive. Mind you i ought to renew my driving licence, too, after the shredder mishap. I find i’ve been somewhat distracted 😉
tea was SC stew with mash. note to self…close the cutlery drawer before catching the spoon in the gravy. Still, it was yummy, DD enjoyed it too.
Flying…cutlery has been washed and drawer wiped out. Unintentionally but definitely flying. Also cleaned up till at Morries as i dropped, and cracked, cremes caramel.
Sheet didn’t dry on line so towels definitely wouldn’t have.
Going to get my delicate and dainty tootsies seen to tomorrow. Am expecting confirmation of verrucca.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good morning all xx
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and I'm supping a brew. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before setting off for the paid stuff. Plan is to fill up with petrol on my way to work. And pay my rent on the way home. Calling to see Pops is on my agenda but he may not be in as, if he feels OK after his COPD review this morning, he's going Christmas shopping with Babs.
Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all. I'm posting as I like catching up with you all, but I feel a bit of a fraud as it unlikely I'll do any flying today as DH and I are going to York. Although at the moment he's still in bed.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning all.
I'm on my second cuppa of the day, and I've already done HHINeed to rest my shoulder now, until DH manages to get breakfast on the table. Almost every room is tidy, but I must remember to empty the bins, ready for collection tomorrow. I'll do the dusting and clean the bathrooms later, and delegate some of the hoovering when DH gets back from SW [mwah, mwah!] We have tarted up leftovers in the form of Greek lemon chicken soup for lunch and easy SC sausage casserole for tonight's tea.
Hope today is a good one for everyone xxx7
