Dropped urine sample in for Pixie as per GP request.
Dropped drugs off at DS1's.. he has man flu.
Wool arrived to do another fluffy hat for Beanie and one for DIL ... she was rubbing her face all over Beanies bear bonnet lol. I have lace to do Harper a fussy hat.. every baby girl needs a vomit inducingly fussy hat.
It's nice here today so I may see if my bones will allow me to hang out washing... I have about 5 baskets to get through. I might do a towel wash first, I hate having those hung in the house.
I am going to give DS1/DIL some money towards buying a NEW new cooker for christmas. Theirs has a big element in the top and it is badly bent and very dangerous.. I don't want it in the house with them for their own safety! It might not be a lot of money but it will help. I just grabbed DS1 some trainers reduced from £70 to £20 so he is more than done.
Cuppa.. WM's x2.. V!nted... I need to clear the kitchen table so I can do pics in there, OH said I'm too noisy to be in the bedroom lol.
Shein and Am@zon orders to whizz upstairs to my chrimbo stash too.. and update the christmas book.

TD on with DD2/GF undies/socks.
Table cleared.. best go give it a wipe.. I do NOT want to spend ages in the kitchen doing pics it is FREEZING in there!! .. North facing with an ill fitting door and 3 large windows!
cuppa to make for OH first.. he is having a moment at his desk because the work systems won't log in again
OH.. I sent an email about changing my internet package.. hopefully con a new router out of them since the 1 we need is over £300 and we would all have to sell a kidney to afford that!

Afternoon all, me again.
A new week, so I've been flying. DW loaded and run, needs emptying now. All worktop and table wipes down. Both kitchen windows and door cleaned, outside needs doing now! Three bathrooms cleaned. Two wall in downstairs barhroom/utility room painted. Walls were filthy and wouldn't wipe clean, matt paint. Recoated in matt, as I haven't got any silk! I'll put it on the list of things I will buy when I have money, don't hold your breath.
I've got liver out defrosting for tea, also chicken defrosting for tomorrow. Now going to make some mincemeat.
@pigpen, I love the hat, looks really warm.
Hugs, and keep warm and dry to everyone, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.8 -
Washing on the line but it wont dry because there isn't even the slightest breeze.. I will have OH bring it in later and hang it on the heated airers... I will clear those when I get back from school.
2 cuppas slurped.. toast snaffled .. bring on the bellyache!
I need to dig out my waterproof sheets for DD1's sofa.. Lionel appears to have no washer and keeps leaking!! The children had weekend trauma with their male parental.. henceforth to be known as NM (nasty mo-fo ... or not-the-mamma for those of delicate sensibilities)
14 things listed on V!nted.. it seems to have worked and has bumped my listings.. *FLING*
Pixie is sat here snotting all over the world! .. gross beastlet.

Opened patio doors to air living room and kitchen but didn't keep them open for too long as it's quite nippy!
DW on. All pots that don't go in the DW are washed and drying on the rack - they'll go away when dry.
Cleaned the microwave.
Tidied and cleaned the 'booze' corner. You know the one I mean, where you've got a collection of bottles of different spirits with about an inch left in the bottom that have been there since 2019 (I checked the date on one!). No, I didn't drink it all, it went down the sink and the bottles are in the recycling. There was a half a bottle of a 'snow globe' type gin liqueur thing that DS was given for a birthday present probably three years ago - all the glitter had disappeared - presumably having dissolved over time.
Tomato plants dug up and despatched to the rubbish bin ready to be taken away tomorrow.
Wine glasses ordered from Amazon. They'll arrive tomorrow morning.
First of this season's pheasant from the butcher is gently cooking on top of a bed of celery, shallot and leek in white wine in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.

I haven't posted in one of these threads before so if I've misunderstood and mess up please forgive me.Anyway, we have some family coming for lunch later in the week and having visitors always galvanises me on the housework front. I have been wringing my hands about the state of the carpets for a long time but the thought of moving all the furniture, rugs, etc. and then having to sit in a bedroom for several hours while the carpets dry has been putting me off doing anything. I decided though that I really wanted to have them done before our visitors come so I booked a company for today and last night and this morning moved everything, which also involved me tidying and de-junking the spare room so I could get things in there - another long-put-off job. Of course, moving things that are rarely move exposed the superficiality of my usual cleaning regime and I discovered dust, grime and even an extensive cobweb network behind a very large plant (actually it has grown so much in recent years it has become a veritable tree). In moving the tree I knocked it over and spilled a lot of soil on my newly-vacuumed carpet, which I then had to clear up and re-vac the area.
Thank goodness that happened before they were cleaned; I shall have to be extra careful putting it back.
I had to to vac all the carpets anyway before he came and parts were vac'd that don't normally see the light of day and afterwards I got to work on the other cleaning horrors I discovered after moving things. I also cleaned the kitchen and bathroom (not full-on clean but pretty decent) so as not to be embarrassed in front of the carpet cleaner, so am feeling very pleased. The carpet man has been and they are looking a lot better. The spare room looks like Tutankhamen's tomb with all the stuff that's piled in there and I will soon have to get to work on putting everything back. Having people over is such hard work isn't it? And I haven't even started on the shopping and food preparation yet.8 -
CoG .. that sounds like a super productive day!! I hate having people over because of all the work involved in the week before! I hoe you're not going to do things like that every day, you will exhaust yourself.. we are all about a little and often rather than a big blitz.. we occasionally do a blitz in one area when we have the time and energy.. it is all such hard work!
I sold an item while I was out so I need to package that up and get it flung off to its new home.. it is an item requiring batteries so I need to take those out before posting as they are not allowed without a sticker.. I might do that after my cuppa actually so I don't forget.
I know they are monstrously expensive but.. does anyone have any of the Ninja zerostick pans?? I need a new frying pan .
