As planned I've dressed, supped brew 2 and eaten breakfast. I've also sploshed bleach down the loo, fed the birds, put out the rubbish and recycling, put new bin bags in the bins, draped first load of washing on the airer, set second load swishing and finished reading my book.
Coffee next Anyone want to join me? ☕ Pull up a chair 😊

Cloth of Gold, the play was Score. Belovéd made a film with Brian Cox a few years ago so he wanted to see the play and him. The cast was better than the play. We're both devastated to find that we were exhausted by the day trip although it was a long day which is, admittedly, unusual for us. Still both feeling the after effects of it today, tbh. My state of mind is not helped by the fact that I wore a new top, the most expensive that I've ever bought (not my normal CS or Reduced Rail or Sale stuff, a proper smart top) has a hole in it, and I have no idea how I did that on Thursday. Fortunately I think I can mend it with a couple of tiny stitches but I'm really disappointed in myself. I just can't be trusted with nice clothes.I emptied the en suite loo out and poured a whole bottle of vinegar in before we went so it had 13 hours to work on the last of the limescale. We had that loo put in about 30 years ago so there's absolutely no excuse for the amount of limescale that was in it, but it's taken three attempts to get it back to pristine white again. I am NEVER letting a loo get that bad again, and now that I know the trick I'm only sorry I didn't deal with the loos at my parents house. They did at least have the excuse that they lived in a hard water area. I don't.Tooch, how lovely that you'll be in the city next week. The forecast isn't quite as grim towards the end of it, unlike now. It's hissing down here.Round, another Mark Harmon fan here, although I can't bear his hair cut in NCIS. I fell for him when he was in four episodes of West Wing a few years ago, for which he was nominated for an Emmy. Plus which, he's married to the lovely Pam Dawber, who was Mindy in Mork and Mindy, with Robin Williams as Mork *nanu nanu* for those that know it. Loved it.I gave a neighbour a digital radio a couple of years ago that was surplus to requirements here because she needed one and we really didn't need it, and she's now given it back, broken (which I'd be okay with, it was oldish) but also given us one of hers which is so filthy I don't want to touch it. After several years of decluttering I'm just a bit tired of other people's cast offs being foisted on me. My parents used to arrive with a car load of family treasures crap every time they came down here for a decade, all of it went straight up to the attic, most has been brought back down and donated / flung since and I just don't want any more 'gifts' like that thank you. Belovéd's best friend had a habit of passing on his expensive old electronics crap to Belovéd who then always passes it on to me to deal with. I'm so tired of people pretending to be generous when what they're actually doing is salving their conscience by 'giving' me stuff and expecting me to be grateful.Belovéd has heroically done almost all of the vacuuming this morning, including the stairs. He's now shouting at the TV while watching his team probably lose.I'm going to spend whatever energy I have left for the rest of the day gentle moving piles of gibble to other spaces in the house because not only do we have two people staying next week, we also have a late Sunday lunch for six tomorrow afternoon and the dining room is stuffed full of things that belong elsewhere.Better is good enough.8

I have weeded a strip of the allotment and got the blasted garlic planted. Feeling quite pleased with myself that I have done it before November. Just. Came home with the last of the courgettes, the beetroot that I could rescue from the ones that the rats or some other creature have eaten, some carrots and an armful of spinach. That’s next week’s meal plan in the making then. Tonight’s dinner is bubbling in the sc, just needs some potatoes maybe to go with it.
The load of washing that I hopefully hung out before I left has managed to blow itself dry, before the promised rain sets in. I have added it to DH’s ironing pile 😈, which is in danger of toppling over. Next job - WULTD, sort out one of the kitchen drawers as I finally have a rack to go in it, so need to actually fit the darn thing and get it off the worktop.7 -
Thanks Fayolle. DS is not OK, his inflammation markers are so high the hospital want to rerun some tests. He is ignoring this and I have to just time it right to nag him. He has come home for the weekend so I have a bit of time to make my move.
Volunteering done, brunch cooked, paintwork in utility wiped down. DSs washing is in the machine, it will have to go over the airer. I am feeling decidedly lazy, might just make another brew.
DH has almost finished painting the kitchen. I am trying to decide whether I can buy new curtains for the dining area of the kitchen without changing the blind over the sink which would be a different colour. They are opposite ends of the room, the blind is very dark grey and I want to get teal curtains. It should look OK shouldn't it?9 -
Hugs, YL x Thinking of you. As for the blinds and the curtain colours - sounds lovely.Kitchen drawer sorted. 2 boxes from the landing also sorted. I will get it clear, although I added 2 more boxes of treasures carp à la HB from the loft, still to be sorted.
Stopping for a cuppa now, and I’ll update my list. More is going on it than coming off atm.5 -

Today Ive dusted the downstairs, hoovered and mopped the floors, quick wipe down and tidy in the kitchen and decluttered abit.
Looked at the bedrooms.....and decided to ignore them! TBH I dont use them anyways as I sleep downstairs and Ive got piles of clothes for the CS and rubbish that needs to go piled up in there. They desperately need replastering/decorating so I pretend they arent there!!8 -
So I got up at 11:45.. and folded a basket of laundry and fed the children
OH picked up from dance class.. We did swimming.. collected DD1's 4 oldest and dropped 7 children with overnight attire and belongings at DS1's.. then bought up half of Tesc0.. that is all put away and my cupboards are still fairly empty. I did manage to grab a jumper Squeak had admired.. it is chenille.. I hate chenille.. with 25% off so I have stashed that for christmas. I also grabbed advent calendars and some sweets for stocking fillers.
I tried the 3 coats on Dot.. they are all too small so I need to find my smallish 12 y/o a green winter parka type coat which is warm and waterproofish and bigger than the 14/15 M&S one she has outgrown.. And I have 3 coats to V1nted.. 2 are pretty much brand new.. one might actually be new.. I have so many coats listed.. I am glad it is winter coat weather and people are looking at buying the darm things!DW did one run and needs reloading2x WM2 bags filled with rubbish and binnedAnd I have a glorious headache, possibly from dehydration as I've been busy and not drank as much as usual, caffeine withdrawal.. see previous.. or it is my usual nigly brain pain.. either way I will give it an hour or so and drug it.. I need to eat too I've been starving all day and not had time to eat.
Tomorrow we are getting the boxes of christmas stuff out of our room so I can shuffle my summer/winter clothes and next weekend we are moving furniture.. I will no doubt be ill or something to prevent anything productive being done.. that is the usual scenario.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -

You could stencil a design on the blind in the same teal.. and in the grey on the curtains.. the tulip fabric paints are the best
