CF made John's fireplaces in his house, I have pictures of them somewhere.  Gill Adams (also local playwright) is my second cousin and her daughter, Lucy Richardson (nee Beaumont) is her daughter.. of 'Meet the Richardsons'... she is about as funny as a dose of the clap!..lovely, but not funny just floating on her parents name and having grown up with people of said ilk.

I assure you the community of Hessle road is STILL going strong. It has actually created a lot of divides in the current communities.. very much an east/west divide in terms of 'culture' and money income brackets.. it is veyr much alive and causing misery.

Nice to see the forum back, I thought my arms had dropped off.

I have decluttered dirt from myself, Sent 3 parcels on their merry way.. (ASB.. incoming!)

Lemon juice and sunlight. If it is 100% cotton you can bleach it .. do not leave the bleach on it will eat a hole.. or soak in net whitener that stuff is legendary... soak it overnight in it and add the water and cloth to the washing machine with a cap full (half a bottle if you're me) of bleach.. you can also boil wash it if 100% cotton whihc is what they did in the 60's.. they had the 'old copper' and boiled bedding and table cloths and undies etc... things were much better and made to last such harsh treatment.

I'm all for hitting it with everything lol

I dont even own an iron!!   Most of the stuff I buy doesnt seem to need it and my work uniforms are wrinkle free if I hang them properly to dry. 

Have done a quick bathroom clean today, including de-cobwebbing the ceiling! Also cleaned the fridge before filling it up with my Sainsbury delivery. Washed the dogs puppy pads and have spot cleaned the floor several times....which is part of the joys of having elderly dogs!LOL

I only iron school uniform now Junior Flamingo is in secondary, or the occasional shirt/dress for weddings and the like!

Washing on line now soaked again 😑 tumble dryer needs resetting

Well I have failed spectacularly today. I was full of good intentions but then logged onto Ancestry (I have an account, a DNA result and a ridiculously large family tree up there). Have done nothing else all day but research adding bits here and there.... Did make some brunch and lit the fire but that was it. Now prepping dinner as DS is due to visit v. soon to eat. 

But, I guess, as I'm now retired, it doesn't actually matter if that's all I do for one day!

I still have quite a long list but hoping to catch up over the weekend while OH is at the caravan. Half term here next week and we are going to see DD in Plymouth for a few days at the end of the week. Hopefully will have the place half decent for when we get back xx

You sound exactly like me, soappie.  Lots of my days are like that.  You never know, we could be related!!! - my DNA result is there for all to see, and I've got lots of matches (mostly 4th cousins), though I still haven't got round to putting up a family tree.  One day I might even get responses from some of the people I've messaged.

My big achievement today has been a full inventory of my fridge-freezers and store cupboards.  I threw out half a bag of desiccated coconut BBE 2013 and various other bits and pieces that I will never use up.  

I picked up a copy of the rota at church last Sunday, but when I got home found that I only had half of it, so I emailed one of the churchwardens today to ask for the rest.  It's a good thing I did, as I found out that I'm on duty this coming Sunday!  And there I was, thinking I might get more than one extra hour's lie-in....

Flamingo if it helps even a tiny bit my MH has been bad just lately too.  I have anxiety which is like a big red magnet that draws worries to it, it sort of finds things I didn't even know were a problem until I have a massive clump of worry.  Forcing myself to do stuff like exercise helps, I also journal, listing my worries, what the actual facts are, and what I am going to do about each worry (if anything) .  Hope things get better for you x

9 intense hours at the paid stuff.  That's been my day.  Flying was limited to putting pots in the DW.  I was up at 5.30am.

Bring on the weekend.  At least I am WFH tomorrow and might just use some lieu hours.

Thank you for being so understanding @Ionafan ! Most of my matches are 4th cousins but there are a few 2-3rd cousins. Was contacted yesterday by someone in the States who is trying to trace someone who was adopted a couple of generations ago...But I'm unable to help directly, but maybe able to give pointers indirectly... It's all-consuming in many ways this family tree lark I find!
