Hearsay on boards well that won't help anyone really
They might as well close the board, right now, then.

The point is you seem to "need" this backout clause personally so go and get it from the source for your own comfort.
As someone once said to me here isn't useless info without a source or evidence.0 -

You’ll have to opt in to each Octoplus event manually when invited so, presumably, you would just have to not join any that wouldn’t be to your benefit.
Good point. I'd better sign up!
Obviously, I'm only really joining for the enhanced WoF experience

As mentioned above, there shouldn't be any need to get out of Octoplus entirely if you just don't wish to be part of the Savings Sessions or Free Electricity elements of the scheme.

Didn't want to create a new thread just for this so thought I'd make a little aside here:
Relatively recently joined Octopus and I am happy so far. I just noticed though on their website that they say one of the reasons they are so good is due to their platform. However, there is no secret that the platform is made by another company (Kraken) and the platform is also in use by several other utilities including Eon.
So while nothing said is dishonest, the quality of the platform is almost presented as a unique selling point which it clearly isn't.1 -

Does anyone have any idea how often the free electricity sessions will occur? It may just be an experiment with one or two free electricity sessions over the next few months, or they might give us free electricity every time the wholesale price goes negative. Presumably Octopus would make a profit by supplying lots of negatively priced electricity for free?
If the free electricity sessions are reasonably frequent it may be worth purchasing some smart socket switches to make use of the free energy. I'm guessing they will be at times when the Agile electricity price is negative - i.e. usually between 2am and 5am - so I will not be jumping out of bed to turn on heaters!

Only Michael Fish.
Half-hourly prices are decided a day ahead, but assuming the free sessions coincide with the plunge prices on Agile, then there should be at least a couple of sessions a month.
The cut demand things might be more often, in the winter months, at least.
