I got my invitation email, this evening. I can't see any advantage to an Agile customer, apart from the spins on the Wheel of Fortune. Am I missing something?
Hard to tell, as there is so many unknowns. All we know is that we will receive points if opt-in to a challenge (and there is space left?) and fulfil it. But how often will it be happening? How many points/£ will be awarded? How will the peak grid off-loading work? How many free electricity hours will there be? Until then, nobody can answer your question.

The thing I can't make out is will the free electricity replace the paid-to-use electricity I get from Agile, from time to time?

Recently the plunge periods have been mainly odd half-hours mixed in with a period of leccy costing a few pence. Will the free period be an amalgam of that cheap/paid period, so you might get a block of several hours free? The latter might make planning for EV charging a bit easier.

I think Netexporter raised a valid question. The explanations of this new loyalty programme Isn’t entirely clear.

And neither does it have to be. Like last year's DFS events everyone learnt as they went along and the successes were posted here.

My opinion is I suspect those on Agile will not benefit as much as others if these octopoints events mainly run during those heavy use times 4-8pm. It may also be the case that the free electricity periods also coincide with Agile negative pricing so again to the detriment of Agile users. You can't always win is probably the motto here if this is the case.

But we will all have to wait and see unless someone on Agile wants to reach out to Octopus and gather more info?

Actually the loyalty programme seems to be, earn points for things.

The other things are separate initiatives, albeit only open to those signed up to the loyalty programme.  Which means they may well add more things over time.

Nothing to lose signing up, if the current offerings aren't going to earn Agile users in particular very much, I'm sure the stacks of money they've already saved/earned on their energy use from being on the tariff will soften the blow somewhat ;)
(Edit: I'm not being facetious on that last point, the savings of Agile over time - and to an extent Tracker, but we don't ever get paid to use electricity - likely far outweigh any of what these sessions will likely earn.)

The octoplus page has a link saying every spin is a winner for the wheel of fortune, I clicked it but spins all done for the month. :)
Yeah but the wheel has "winning" prizes of 8 points (ie. 1 penny) on it...

Ahaa, glad someone posted what actually happens then.

One thing you would need to clarify is what happens if a session coincides with a negative pricing period on Agile, since negative is better than free. I doubt they would apply a debit to your bill, but this is not covered in the T&C. Otherwise how it works and how many £ is covered in the T&C. How frequent and how long is dependent on predictions for the grid, so nobody will ever be able to accurately forecast that.
As with the previous schemes of the same nature, asses it on a case by case basis. There will no doubt be plenty of chat about each session as it arises... and no doubt analysis/forewarnings about when we think they'll be happening.

It’s free, so what’s the problem - if there are any benefits, cheaper or free electricity, then even better
