Octopus - Octoplus Rewards (points/money off/free electricity)

Oh maybe I misunderstood the information because I was reading something about notifications only being through the app. Maybe that was just for the savings sessions.EssexHebridean said:It does specifically state on the website that the notifications around the free electricity will be by email. Hopefully it is just a wording thing and they will send push notifications as well though!0 -
Two main problems I see with this is:
1) We may get 1 or 2 free hours in the next 6 months - so much hope but it may not be a big deal.
2) Off-loading the usage during peak hours - not much info about that, and especially coming towards winter. My summer usage between 4pm-7pm is about 2kW but during winter (electric heating) it could be even 20kW. I would be happy to switch off heating between 4pm-7pm if it saved me a decent amount but I honestly see Octopus giving me some kind of target of achieving 1kW to save 20p.. which I may not bother (although it will be mighty 500 points :-D)0 -
Yes - the savings sessions did refer to notifications through the app now I think about it. That's probably why the reference to email particularly stood out to me, when I come to think about it.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Email just feels so dated and not very Octopus like1

Hopefully they'll have a dedicated Twitter account again that can be followed with notifications turned on.

This is MSE, anything for free is better than nothing 👍Newbie_John said:The point ratio is ridiculous - 800 points = £1
We all prefer to get 100s of points than 3

I was more talking about the confusing rate points to pound.born_again said:

It's just the marketing gimmicky that we all prefer getting 200 points than 25p - otherwise they would do 100 points = £1, to make it simple.

We might prefer 200 points if they introduce a method of redeeming that is worth more than 25p to us.Newbie_John said:
