It seems like a no brainer to sign up, what's the downside?
Granted the actual financial upside seems small at this stage, but if I'm already trying to avoid using energy during peak time because I'm on the Agile tariff, it's just a free (small) win?

Jinglish said:Email just feels so dated and not very Octopus likeHi Jinglish, "dated" yes but "Octopus like" no.I live in a house with very intermittent mobile coverage. I cannot rely on it.Companies with email options, like Octopus, are a dream for me.Doing business with companies that insist on a smartphone, like banks/insurance/pension companies are a nightmare. Business with them is the most stressful activity I undertake.I'm lucky I've a nearby relative willing to go through the inconveniece of copying texts to my email account in a timely manner, with sufficient forwarning, but even that requires pre-planning and no-go times. (Bless her, she also handles the affairs of 2 other elderly people who would otherwise be in deep trouble and distress.)Please do not assume the whole population has as easy access to tech based solutions as you do.Even email access is an impossibility for many, especially the old and vulnerable.4

Grizzlebeard - sounds like you need to change phone, operator or possibly both to one that offers the option of wifi calling!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Worth pointing out that Octopus use push notifications in their app rather than SMS, so they work over wifi and no mobile signal is needed.

I cope fine. I have cheap low-tech solutions.I highlight the dilemma for those who don't cope.Especially the technophobic - and they're not all ancient like me.I was a high-tech electronics and audio designer before I retired. But old dog new tricks. I would jump hoops if I still had my 55 year old brain.I know many old and demented people. And younger ones who don't find this faceless remote chat-enabled digitiized life socially inclusive.(My mobile is only for emergency use(car) at £10/4months. And has best available mobile coverage in my area(EEpiggyback).)As I said, my dealings with Octopus are idyllic. (Absolute, not just relative to my previous experiences with BG)

I got my invitation email, this evening. I can't see any advantage to an Agile customer, apart from the spins on the Wheel of Fortune. Am I missing something?2
