Thanks everyone, so glad it's back. I was starting to get fed up of ' the ring of power, the one ring to rule them all, blah blah blah', lord of the rings/the hobbit references from DH.
Busy day of toing and froing. Had to go get the youngest some boots as their specialist boots are broken(zip) and we are still waiting for an appointment. Volunteer group went well, lots of items including our coffee maker was fixed. Picked the eldest up from the train station. We then went and got🎄. Christmas boogied around the tree, large quanties of mulled wine drank, Christmas sparkle, scattered throughout the house, traditional but tipsy/jovial photo of us and the tree taken and sent on various clan chats. A good time was had by all and in bed by 9 as we were all knackered 🙄.
Frugalness for yesterday
1. Coffee maker took to repair cafe and fixed for a small donation
2. Contributions to the tree fund from the eldest and the money my friend insisted I accept for helping her DD move, meant the tree cost us £15 instead of £55.First year we've had to buy one as we used to use the money my nan gave us instead of a present.

Yesterday was not a frugal day as visited 3 sm to get what we need for Christmas week. I really don't enjoy shopping especially this time of year, so hopefully it will last until things have quietened down.30 mile round trip to drop of gluten free mince pies at a friend's house as she couldn't get them where she lives was also not particularly in line with been frugal. However it was my good deed for the day.Spent the rest of the day supporting the eldest to put together an academic CV as they are applying for a PhD. The Internet was not particularly helpful as most examples were for people who have a PhD. Hopefully we've done it correctly. Personal statement tomorrow.
Frugalness for yesterday
1. 2 packs of ys mushrooms cut up and dehydrated for another day.
2. Bought 5 swedes in sm 19p veggie sale as they will keep in the garage.Love 🐞

it's starting to feel alot like Christmas' The current Christmas family disagreement is like hydra, everytime you think it's sorted another head appears. I think if the individuals involved don't start thinking how their behaviour effects others, then they could lose family members. Trying to sit on the fence is getting harder with time.
On a more positive note we are really looking forward to spending time with other family members in the next couple of days Although a cold could be looming as I woke up with a sniffle and the big meet up might have to be cancelled (vulnerable family member). 🤞 it doesn't materialise. Taking the youngest to get their nails done before we head off to see the famous chocolate movie and have fish and chips for lunch.

Family coming this evening for pre-christmas celebration. Need to think which charity I want to put into the hat. We all put in £10each, it originally was to replace buying Christmas presents. However one family member decided they wanted to do presents, so they would have something to open on the day. I've made that person some jam as money doesn't grow on trees and they don't really need anything. Best get a wriggle on.
