  • So that's Christmas done, still looking for my sparkle. Think I just need to accept that this year it just wasn't meant to be and move on.
We've decided new years day we are not joining the family celebrations as it's DH' only day off for the next 2 weeks and we just want time together. The plan is to visit a nature reserve and take a pack up.

  • Very relaxing day.
    Frugalness for today
    1. Used nature's tumble dryer
    2. Eating leftovers for tea.
    3. Having a fire outside tonight, wood is from Christmas trees past or from mine and miss giddychops walks
    4. Eldest has ended up with an almost brand new iPad as my dad (clearly has too much money) doesn't want it(it's about 4 months old) as he prefers his laptop. This is regular thing he does as he loves a gadget.

Need to hunt out my onion and chilli seeds as its almost time to start sowing.
Didn't get money from in-laws this year as apparently one child doesn't tell them what they use the money for🙄, so we all ended up with presents. I got slippers that are too small and smellies that I can't use due to allergies 🤣. So I'll have to pay for my rotary soil sieve myself.

Long chat with DH about the fact that I got an instant pot from my mum which benefits the whole family and DH got money that benefits just him🤣. Anyway DH has given me half to buy a rotary garden sieve, that again will benefit everyone 🤣and he keeps the other half for himself.
Long day as supported the eldest with another PhD application, 3 down 2 to go!

Been thinking about 2024 and what I want to achieve. Wrote 24 things for the 2024 challenge, but thinking what else. After 2 elderly relatives have tried to guilt trip me about plans for the future recently, I definitely will be going ahead with what I want to do. I already do so much and they have others who they can call on. I will also be getting more involved with the group I volunteer with. Next year will be about focusing on  what's important to me for a change. I want to make life slower, more manageable and enjoyable
    Frugalness for yesterday
    1. No money spent
    2. Free exercise with miss giddychops
    3. Miss giddychops finished veggie peeling stew
