Hmmmm still awake. Finished my book, had a biscuit and a cuppa, read some diaries, done wordle and other brain 🧠 teasers, still awake 😤. Joined the old fashioned weight loss group on mse. Planned how to source shelving for the dining room through recycling the tops of some wooden desks at dads and an old scaffolding board. Dad also had some metal……. Things to hold up shelves. I have some metal spray paint, fil has a circular saw, I have white gloss and sandpaper. I think it’s doable and hopefully minimal cost. Then the dining room will be finished.

At least you have used the time productively. I am awake because the dogs stomach was making awful noises and I thought I might regret not getting up!My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I'm another who was awake till stupid o'clock. I'm even wondering if it was to do with New Year - lots of people stayed up to see the new year in, then spent day one trying to fulfil all their resolutions (so they were hyped up) or chilling out and therefore not physically tired.
Here's to a better night tonight for all of us!
@ladybird1106, the extra cash is a nice start for the New Year.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

items whose future may hold a different address. Shuffled money around and sadmin sorted. We have 2 viewings booked in for the weekend, hopefully the weather will hold till they’ve both been.Frugalness for today

Phew first time been a gym bunny🤣. Been to support the youngest who has decided they need to go back to the gym 😖. Cost me £35 that’s membership and today’s session. It would be cheaper to join as it’s £30 per months (15 month contract) than the £8 per session. However, I’m safe in the knowledge that the youngest won’t keep this up. Still £8 for 30 minutes is a lot to stump up for now.Love 🐞

£30 pm is expensive for annual especially as if you miss a month or two.
Depends on the gym though - I am in London where £35pm is cheap and on a student price, however most gyms are £60-£100+ pm...
I have family though in the North and some of their gyms are pretty pricey too
Actually starting a life time of training and exercise is a v good habit so I hope for your youngest (though not your budget!) they carry on.
I always exercised and danced plus I started weightlifting at 18yrs old and I am sure its a large part of why I am still 30+ years on fit, lean , strong and v healthy, and have a positive loving attitude to my body which is even more valuable..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I totally agree LWAP about exercise, it’s so important not that you would know that looking at me.Yesterday I managed to use nature’s tumble dryer, clothes just needed a 5 minute warm on a radiator when I brought it in.More sadmin done , found an unexpected adult book 😱🤣.Didn’t get round to decluttering. Generally a day of bitting and bobbing and not getting a great deal done.
Not an expensive week. Only gone over food budget by £2 which is good for me. £35 on the gym😤, but necessary. Oh actually it’s coming back to me now, £12 on a book on accessible walks in Yorkshire and £50 on toiletries (via cashback site). Hmmmm I did make some money via trading in some books and ct rebate . Swings and roundabouts
