I think the occasional fabulous chippy treat is worth it if it’s in the budget - I am GF so it’s v rare chippies do gf .

I  once had the most amazing GF fish and chips of my life but it was £47 a portion! In the Corinthian hotel ..Tom Kerridge -  I didn’t have a starter or dessert but that crisp batter may never be equalled.  The mushy peas, tartare and curry sauce came on a posh ramekin set .
I probably will not ever have it again but I will remember it always - absolute food joy !

I hate paying for expensive food that’s not worth it or  meals out - I only do takeaways if I have a voucher maybe 2 x a year but once or twice a year if it’s a special treat like taking your eldest to uni ..
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • Wow that's expensive ladywithaplan, but like you say, you really enjoyed them at that's what counts. I've justified it in my head as a treat.
Good luck debtfreewannabe321 with your plans.
Called at the plot to harvest kale, sprouts and psb. On the utility plot someone was getting rid of loads of module cells. Must of been about 40, so helped myself as it was something on my list to purchase this year. Devoured Charles Dowding skills book yesterday.
New washing line bought, meal plan done, shopped from the freezer, cupboards and the plot and then actually went shopping. £52.24-change in the fun pot.

@ladybird1106 Ooooh, I'm a bit jealous of your allotment!  We used to have one right behind our house before we moved to be nearer family.  Mr FB loved it and it definitely did him good - tired him out and got him away from sport on the TV - he's hopefully retiring at the end of next August so maybe we should put our names down for a little plot locally xx

Flying_by that's a great idea would also help reduce your food bill.
First proper yoga session this am. Did bed yoga last week to ease me into it. My word my muscles are tight. Lots of stretching this morning hopefully next month I can move onto my usual routine (but not done for awhile).

  • Money spent today on toilet brushes as our had got to 🤮stage. Liked the fact that next time we can just buy the brush part, better for the planet and my pocket. Refilled the laundry egg, moisture mat for the fridge and frivolously got some tea lights. Resisted the plant sections as I was told "no more houseplants as they only come here to die".
    Frugalness
    1. Miss giddychops enjoyed dog soup (enough for tomorrow)
    2. Tea and pudding were supplied from the freezer. (chilli and rhubarb crumble)
    3.  Cannabilsed 3 partially functioning sock, pant airers and made 2 fully functioning.
    4. Started another free book. No TV

    Grateful
    1. Miss giggychops been the sort of dog that will eat anything

Anyway he noticed the sound was coming from above and looked up and it was a starling 🤣🤣. Not sure which he was more miffed at,..... it was only a starling or me nearly wettig myself laughing.
