Found out today Apple only provide iOS updates for phones for 6 years after their release. I bought my phone in December 2017 and it does not seem to have the latest iOS version. Latest iOS is 17.3.1 and my phone's iOS version is 16 something.
The phone is still working ok. Speed is fine. Battery runs down a little quickly but is fine for the way I mostly use it. But the lack of updates does add a little more impetus to replacing the phone.
A few days ago, I was thinking of waiting till the iPhone 16 came out as the rumour mill suggests it has some interesting features but might have to replace my phone before that is released.
I hope Apple introduce a feature (if they haven't already) found on the Pixel 7 where the phone will screen your calls. Apparently this feature puts off many scammers according to one owner of the Pixel phone.

Edited to change iPhone 17 to iPhone 16.
Having a phone which is no longer eligible for updates is a bit of a security risk, so you might want to consider updating your phone sooner.

As for screening scam calls, there are apps on the iphone which do this already, for example Truecaller and Hiya. That feature is not unique to Google Pixel phones.

As an update I replaced my iphone 8. The home button had not worked in sometime. Battery performance was poor in that it ran down quickly. Also even though the phone was at 83% charge, it said it would take 6 hours to fully charge. Otherwise seemed to be working fine. Though don't know entirely as I didn't have every iOS update.
Finally I got spooked by Trump's tariff's. No one know how this will play out but I envisaged a situation where the tariffs are applied and my phone becomes unusable. I didn't want to have to pay a 2nd arm and leg to replace my phone.
Current phone can still be turned on and keeping it just incase anything didn't come over. So it lasted 7 years and 3 months. I think that is a record for me.
