We've still got a Huawei U8815 (as it called Accent?) with our holiday sim card in.
Had it replaced under warranty - not a clue how old it is, but it was when MSE users were recommending it!
    Running Android 4!!
  • Handset #1 3 years
    Handset #2 >10 years
  • My 4.1 Android is 7 years old, still ticking along and does what I need it to. It can connect to the internet, but a page or two downloaded is all it can handle. It doesn't always meet the expectations of others, like when someone says send me a screenshot, but c’est la vie.  I'll get something newer, maybe second hand, not sure, when it finally joins the recycle bin. I'm a die-hard use it until it expires type.

I'm in awe of Brewer Dave, using a handset 15 years old and accessing nothing above 2G!
  • I changed mine a couple of weeks ago it's a xiaomi poco F5 12GB ram 256GB storage, prior to that I had a xiaomi redmi note 8 Pro which I used for three years its still running fine even though the security updates ceased over a year ago

I change every 2-3 years and if new one is on offer. I buy sim separately currently lebara £7 a month.
  • Just coming up to a year. Managed to ruin the old one when I fell in a lake...long story ;)
I usually hold on to them for 3-4 years, £40 new battery when things get sluggish. Think the last one was 4yrs old so it was up for a change anyway.
  • I bought my HTC TOUCH HD in 2009, sadly I had to retire it this year because of the 3G switch-off and the email provider changing the security which the old phone couldn't support.
I bought a new Android but it is nowhere near as good as the old phone for usability. I'm still using the old phone for my agenda and birthday reminders.
  • Bought my PAYG in Spring pre-Diana's death, so 1997 and 26 years and counting.  Mainly use for taxis and if lost.  Very occasionally for texts (fingers too stubby to make it an enjoyable experience!)  Had to get a new battery this year, which was great as don't want an all-singing, all-dancing piece of kit that I'd hardly use.  Had to get a keyboard-type tablet, as couldn't get on with the swipey-type one.  So call me techno-phobe, Face/bovvered?
  • Current phone is an iPhone 12 bought new when they came out three years ago. Previous phone was an iPhone 5 bought in 2013 as a refurb from Apple in Covent Garden. Phone before that was my first mobile, a basic Nokia Talk and Text bought new in 2005.

I plan to keep my current phone for at least three more years then I’ll buy the latest one. I always pay cash not plan and always ask for a discount or if not price discount I get something free, like a cover.

:'( My elderly Nokia 2680 Slide dumbphone, new in 2008, finally turned up its toes 8 months ago. It had been held together with a rubber band for about 5 years, because otherwise the back fell off and the battery fell out. RIP.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • I still use my very basic Samsung GT-1080i phone on PAYG, probably bought mid 2010. I keep it in the car for emergencies or if my iPhone 8 runs out of charge as the battery life on this Samsung can be about 3 weeks when unused. They’re still available to buy and I’d thoroughly recommend as a back up phone. Good pocket sized phone and easy to use too
