Well. That went down like a ton of rocks! But I still have a job and no-one was injured. I arrived to find that in my colleague's absence (Annual Leave) I was expected to be doing everything. Everything meaning the usual plus the new work we were landed with last week! I expressed my dismay at this turn of events (aka cried). And compromise was reached: I did my rotad (rotaed?) jobs and somebody else picked up the extra. I didn't stop all day, so not sure how they thought I was going to do more. My supervisor informed me that she was 4x more stressed than me, and I could always leave. In fact that went for all of us. How to motivate your staff eh? Then in the next mouthful she's telling me that they'll be relying on me to get them through the next six months of anticipated chaos as more changes are brought in. Not if I leave they won't. I am looking.
Anyhoo I cancelled my arrangement to meet A and S for tea. Felt a bit guilty, but my desire for solitude after a day's peopling won out. So I called at Mr C00p on my way home to buy pizza for my tea. And chocolate. For medicinal purposes obviously 🙄
I've changed into my scruffs, emptied my lunch bag, and I'm winding down with a coffee.
Were your ears burning this afternoon? I was singing your collective praises to my colleague. ❤
Pizza. Chocolate. Mark Harmon. And GBBO if I can stay awake that long.
Love to all.

Happy anniversary Fayolle and Mr Fayolle. I hope the pub lunch was lovely.Cream-crackered. Have handwashed a top, scrubbed two pairs of trainers, done a load of washing I hadn't intended to do but Wren was beside herself this morning and puddled on the carpet so needs must, showered and cleaned the bathroom, dusted something, tidied the cupboard under the front steps, changed the bird seed feeder to one with a saucer underneath as we have rats in the garden again and we need to remove temptation, taken the 85litre backpack full of gibble to the CS, to be told they're not taking clothes and shoes at the moment, darn it, because those were to be my second load. I've also rounded up about 50 billion glass jars to take to the scrapstore on Thursday *fling*, bought some accounts up to date, reconciled my bank statement and dusted and vacuumed the area between the letting rooms which never gets any proper attention, but needs it this week because we have a paying guest for two nights later in the week. That's enough flying for one day. I don't have the energy to do any more, much as the house needs it. I am making progress and it looks better, things are getting sorted out, but every time I want to do anything something else needs doing first. It's exhausting.Better is good enough.6

Round... I am just the person that manager needs right now.. cheeky mare! How dare she!!! I'd be reporting it to HR.. when you have had numerous days off for mental health purposes and she is saying crap like that to you it is way out of order!! Can I come fill (her) in for you?? You are disclosing your overwhelm and mental distress and she is saying 'well mine's worse /you can go if you don't like it' .. that is disgusting..
School (Re Dot) are driving me up the wall .. I cannot deal with this school.. they are so infuriating.. I have just been TOLD my daughter who they have had for 5 weeks.. has NEVER played clarinet but can have a recorder... I have politely(not) told them 1. precisely where said recorder can be placed.. and 2. her last 3 clarinet tutors names and 3. if I do not get a satisfactory response within 48 hours I am calling the music service and dropping them in the doodoo..
I couldn't book a parents evening slot so some random teacher who Dot has no idea who it is (she says that about most people until she develops a relationship with them) has told me she is her tutor.. not the man who is her form tutor.. I just cannot deal.. I need vodka on an IV.. Or the biggest galaxy ever..
Why are people so stupid? Why can they not just pick up a phone and speak like someone with a shred of intellect. ?? I am on the verge of asking for a transfer because I can't work with these people but they are deliberately trying to exclude me. .. A school which excludes parents from their childs education is hiding something dark IME ..
I have had a minor breakdown, sent 2 firey emails and off to go feed the terrapins.. Pixie (10) has new shcool skirts.. longer length.. 15-16 years... what the heck is she going to wear at 15???

@roundtuit what a crap supervisor! Sending you new job luck!
@pigpen that school sounds crap too!
One wash on the line, stuff for tip moved by back gate. WUDUPA. Cleaned counters and behind work top appliances. Another load brought in. Some sentimental paperwork filedMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Evening all
Bone tired here. Long story short I had a terrible sleep last night - long suspected some sort of vermin in the loft and last nights constant noise compelled me into action. Very emotional text sent to chap nearby who gets amazing reviews at 7am 🫣… he is coming on Thursday. We have the dreaded Rs outside because of where we live and animal feed etc but I have bait boxes everywhere to manage it.
Full day of paid stuff. Dropped sheep drench stuff off at neighbours, collected apples from another neighbour.Collected DD from her friend’s house, did a big food shop, dropped off a FB marketplace sale, and ate leftovers for tea.Piggers - I have screen shotted part of your post earlier - to remind me of so many things. Thank you xx
Round - I have no words at all. I really do feel you should complain to HR - how she spoke to you is totally unacceptable. I agree that looking for a new role is important now xz
Fayolle - how was lunch? Xx
YL - how is your DS this evening love? Xx
HB - you got it spot on there - it is just exhausting. And never ever done. One piece of clutter / bit of hoovering / small win at a time.Hoping for sleep soon, sleep well girls xx7 -
Hi all
Pigpen you are so wise, you just have more common sense than anyone else I know. Thank you for being here and for supporting us all even though your life is so full on x
ASB Thanks hun, I havent heard from DS today which is unusual, but he has messaged DH and sounded fine. We chatted for a long time last night and sometimes he needs a bit of time to process it all. I will send him a quick message before bed.
Round I am appalled by your line manager, I have a member of staff with anxiety and I would never dream of saying that! I support my little team and their needs come before mine.
Horrible day. Anxious, too much to do. My boss keeps mentioning my appraisal, which is due, but I am overthinking it and wondering why she is so keen to get it done.
Sigh. Tomorrow is another day right?
Oh and I hoovered the sofas, changed our duvet cover, emptied the DW and made a chicken mushroom and spinach pasta thing for tea.7 -

OH has put some utter junk on the goggler.. and it is too loud.. so I am going ot put clean sheets on my bed.. find my duvet because I washed the throw we have been using.. and going to my nest.
ASB .. I am always just a keyboard away
Flamingo.. this is supposedly the best school in the area.. based on results.. but they kick out all the children who are struggling in the first half of yr 11 and don't let those who are unlikely to pass sit exams.. neat trick, they've been getting away with it for years.. unfortunately they seem to have an almost complete new team of staff in the last 3-4 years and these are all about 12 and not had the pleasure of me.
I haven't hung up the wet bedding.. I haven't brought the stuff on the line in.. I don't care if it gets rained on..
I have loaded the DW and done all the usual things.. Right.. bed sheets!
Cocoa in the tea urn and jaffa cakes and shortbread in the tin .. enjoy..

Round i hope you find another job asap and leave the ***** supervisor in the lurch. Disgraceful behaviour.
haven't looked to see what flying room it is today, but:
- swimming x 2; once at the gym and once at the lake as we won't be able to swim evenings for much longer.
- came back to find Mr N had put on wm and hung it out, so we changed bedding, put another load on then turned mattress (we got a new one recently and according to its instructions, we should turn it every fortnight for a year then monthly thereafter. Who knew?).
- continued bedroom blitz by vacuuming under the bed, round the under-bed chest (we call it the coffin as that's what it looks like) which was knee deep in cobwebs. I dragged out another basket of cobweb-clad gibble which fortunately Mr N laid claim to and by the time I'd come back from the lake, he'd disposed of it all. I also vacuumed the inside floor and some shelves in the wardrobes!!!
- labelled up paperwork for tomorrow's assessment and printed details of 2 more, got their paperwork together so it just needs labelling. Started term-time monthly check on the paperwork (answer books) I need; I have to be careful not to over-order this year as it's my last year; each student needs 6 answer books @ around £3-5 each and they come in packs of 25. Prepared scoring spreadsheets for each student on Excel.
- reviewed shopping list for tomorrow to ensure I have ingredients for the soup and cake I'm taking down to Mum's on Thursday.
- used up old bread in a cheese souffle; I haven't made one for years (as I'm not meant to eat bread, but can't bear waste and I just fancied it; it is an old simple recipe I used to cook with Mum when I was a child).
- did some drumming practice.
Tomorrow's plan:
- final check through uni bag to ensure I have everything but that it hasn't got any extraneous clutter in which would make it heavy. I've always used a sort of trolley briefcase but it is heavy before you put anything in it, so perhaps I'll try something else..
- need to pick up new term's parking permit from reception which is a fairish walk from the building I work in
- need to re-programme ID card to ensure I can get into the rooms I need
- need to get there early enough to do the above and also to turn on laptop and ensure wi-fi still works (IT usually faff around with passwords and access while we're off for the summer, just to confuse everyone in autumn).
- go to Mr A on the way home
- pack to go away to Mum's.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Good morning my lovelies xx
Thank you for all your support. It means a lot to me. It gets me up in the morning and keeps me going ❤
This morning I have a chocolate hangover. Self-inflicted. I knew when I was eating it last night that I'd pay for it this morning but inhaled the stuff anyway. It had nuts in. Nuts are good for you right? 😉
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and supped a brew. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off. (Predictive text can now write those two sentences by itself.🤣)
Question: I've asked for my Big River parcels to be delivered to the PO. (First time I've done that). Will they notify me when the parcel(s) have arrived? I assume so. Or do I drive the Post Master insane by dropping in every evening after work until they're there? Probably a good thing that PO doesn't sell chocolate 😉
Have a good day. Keep posting. It's wonderful to see the thread alive again.

wow some of you are dealing with some utter turds (and that includes scratchy attic occupants). We got you, ladies.
Paid stuff for me, but i have a sore throat… but not agony at all…and no temperature and no other symptoms. Odd. Oh now i’ve written it down i’m thinking it could be covid…
