Good morning / nearly afternoon ladies,
You are all quite spectacular, do you know that? There are no words to quite describe how supported and cared for I feel by you all. You are all so very special and, at the top of todays gratitude list, is my FL friends. We are such an eclectic gang, but what glues us together is fierce loyalty, empathy and kindness. Plus a dollop of good humour and the odd bit of dusting once in a while ❤️❤️❤️I am feeling much, much happier today. I have just sold the book on FB marketplace and plan to buy a cake with the proceeds🤣🤣
Flying wise - it is warm but wet here. The house fees very damp despite the dehumidifier running like the clappers. I have one load of washing on the line (it’s meant to stop raining soon!), another spinning and I’ve made the beds.
Yorkshire tea loaf in the oven, hair washed and paid stuff well underway (this is my tea break! Ssshhh!!)
I have also successfully opened a savings account with a much better rate than the paltry amount that my easy access one with my bank has. There’s not much to save, but it may as well earn a decent rate! I have also read the gas meter, logged on and seen my electricity bill for September and booked youngest dog’s booster vaccine for November.
Sending lots of spoons to Piggers and Jazee, I really hope your tummy feels better soon. Hot water bottle prescribed by nurse ASB.
Lots of love to you all xx8 -

Back again. Hugs, especially to ASB, (Belated Happy Birthday) I get it. I have very few RL friends. The ones i do have are all many miles away. I have husband/children/grandchildren, they are my friends, and you lovely lot on here. I will dig up lots of raspberry plants for you, in the next few weeks when they begin to "sleep" for winter, and send them your way. Anyone else want any posted?
Just spent another hour trying to sort the car insurance. Tried again today with dadtoomany's card. That won't work, because they have no mobile number for him, even though he has a phone. Can't log on to add a number, as he has no card reader thing, can't order one because he can't access the site without one. Not phoning them again after last weeks fiasco. So I called Saga, spoke to a real person, she sorted it for me, took the payment, and even managed to get the price down by another pound. Car insurance for the year, £124.28. Result, even if it took several hours in total.
Flying today:
DW at least twice, DS-i-L did it yesterday evening, he only half fills it!
Hoover up more sawdust, it's everywhere. New hoover is good and so much lighter.
Move more logs, sticks etc, spent several hours yesterday doing same.
Make a lasagne for tea.
That's enough for now, I can here A. from nextdoor arriving with his tractor. He's going to move the last tree trunk for us, to be cut into planks, for DD1, for her house.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.6 -

nicki contact the council to tell them it’s wrong then pay the reduced amount you think it should be only, don’t overpay, they will keep the overpayment and adjust future payments (in my experience) and you need the £££ for other stuff.
Aged ps dropped off, DD is going to get them (it’s a distance away) then i can go to outswim cancer.
DW emptied and the ironing pile reduced.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I'm so glad you're feeling better ASB. For those of us who deal with the challenge of life not being quite what we thought it would be, or think it should be, I've found there are several dangerzones which it's best to be prepared for so we're not side-swiped. Birthdays are one, Christmas another, and new year is defo one, where everyone else is apparently having a lovely time. I could add weddings to that list. Actually, what's really going on with all of those is that quite a lot of people are having far, far too much to drink, thinking they're making themselves happy but are, in fact, setting themselves up for a row with someone, a hangover and often quite a bit of regret. I consciously expect absolutely nothing good to come of my birthdays, don't look forward to them, have put a false date on my MSE profile (which causes problems when I click through to buy insurance but that's okay) and keep it very low key indeed. That seems to work.Today's flying so far has consisted of three phone calls that needed to be made, two have provided gratifying results already and a chatbot that switched to a real live human being who did the magic. Happy with that. I've also sorted out my iphone that wouldn't make calls and apparently hadn't been receiving texts since at least Saturday. Apparently I have to switch the thing off and on again. Who knew?Thank you Ionafan. It was hard-earned, but fantastically helpful.Better is good enough.5

Another thing I love about this group is how we span age groups. We wouldn't normally be in contact with people so much older or younger and at a different stage in life yet here we connect on equal ground whether 20 or 80! I truly love that. Passing on wisdom from experience and new ways to do things we are struggling to do.. 'there's an app for that!!' or 'try this new product' hahaha.. I think we do gently nudge each other to branch out in directions we may not otherwise do.
i have 2 parcels to sort and 2 returns.. best go do those and I may forage for lunch

Hope your mum settles at the group today, Valli.
asb, that is definitely sweet revenge. Are you going to send that woman a photo of the cake?
Thank you for setting the age limits so that I am still some way off exceeding them, pigpen
All houseplants have been watered except for DH's cacti, which I dislike intensely
Recycling taken out to the bin
Poo picked
Upstairs and LR hoovered
Dy$0n emptied; filters removed, washed and LTD - I've never ever done them, and I've had the thing about 3 years!
Lunch eaten - cold baked beans out of the tin with brown sauce, and 2 eggs: a veritable banquet
Rosie went out about an hour ago with her crazy other human walker (yes, the one who broke her ankle just 10 days ago!), and I have been waiting for them to get back safely before I disappear off to Action Heart. They have mad e it.
See you all later xxx6 -
