It looks horrible. Why? They had such a well known logo before. There was nothing wrong with it. Madness. Are they looking to become a bank long term? Not only does it wipe away any ethical connection to being a BS, it confuses people mentioning a “bank”, and it looks generic. Worst choice.6

From a branding perspective it is bad on so many levels, lacks distinctiveness, drops well recognised elements and colours, poor contrast, generic font etc. They have ticked all the "on trend" branding elements at the moment, those tend to work well with Gen Z in small focus groups, but fail in almost all other circumstances, including with Gen Z in the real world. Still, a branding agency will have made themselves a few million.11

Nationwide management are making the common mistake of conflating change with improvement just so they can award themselves a terribly well deserved pay rise.God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.6 -
Aren't they supposed to be a mutual building society focusing on savings and mortgages - not a bank? How does the logo express its supposed values?
Can't say I am fan - the old logo was perfectly fine and clear it was about helping people buy homes. What is the thing on the left - a house with some weird shaped crescent hanging off it?
And it does look very NatWest - so isn't distinctive either.5 -
I checked in the new app - it works and my money is still there - so end of the 'issue' for me.
Although hopefully the new app does not crash as often as the old one had started to do.4 -

The font and basically everything about it is so bland, and why get rid of the captital letter in Nationwide?!
It could have been a lot worse, they could have taken all the vowels out of the name, like they did with Aberdeen when they rebranded it as abrdn. ntnwd

apart from the launch page and the replaced logo at the top of each page, my app looks exactly the same as before. It just takes a lot longer to launch now.
