DH took loads of books to the charity shop for a big declutter and also managed to sell one of our dog crates for £25 *pending pickup. I really hope they come. I’m loving seeing things leave the house.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £1.42 Dec24

Another exciting thing - our agreed pay rise is being added to this month’s pay and back dated to April. It will be taxed to high heaven, but even so I’m taking the positive.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £1.42 Dec24

I refused more overtime this time round. I’ve just too much to do to get Christmas ready. The money would be nice but as I’ve already done more than 2 days worth, I can cope with giving it a pass. I’ll definitely do more in the new year though given the chance.I just feel ready for the break now. I’m exhausted.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £1.42 Dec24

Hi Twinklie, great to see you back with a new diary! Very impressed with the vinted sales, I might well join you in that as I’m overrun with clothes I don’t like or wear 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope everyone’s had a lovely festive time.We celebrated just our little family of 4 (and the dog). The boys (DH included) get very overwhelmed so we always keep it low key. Everyone was happy with what Santa brought them and we had an amazing Christmas dinner cooked by DH. I made dessert in the morning, the requested pumpkin pie by DS1.The new oven was most certainly put to the test and did a Stirling job!
Today we host my parents for a festive treat and Christmas mark 2. Tomorrow FIL is coming to spend some time with the kids. And on Thursday we are going nextdoor for some party fun with the neighbours.Hopefully following that I can start getting the house into some semblance of order whilst also enjoying as much family time as possible.I’ve really enjoyed my low key Christmas with no pressure. The build up is terrible for the kids (ASD - anxiety) so it have it all without a hitch and for everyone to be happy is just what the dr ordered. 😁Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £1.42 Dec24

So it turns out I’m not very good at just relaxing. I’m not quite sure what to do with myself. But I’m so tired, I’m trying to not do anything.I’m going to create myself a list of things to do so I at least feel like I’m doing something. That might settle my brain a bit.Although I just sold 3 pairs of pants which I’m pleased about. Yay. So I’ll get to sort out the parcel.Think I’ll try and clean and sort the boys room tomorrow. Might look to make a pile of other things to list on V.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £1.42 Dec24

So you know we gifted a load of books to the charity shop. Well rather amusingly my parents bought one for me and gave it me for Christmas.
I didn't say anything, but it did make me laugh. DH nearly died laughing but managed to pass it off as something else.
My wages are up this month thanks to a nice combination of back pay and overtime - I dread how much tax, NI, student loan etc will have come out - but hey ho. Hopefully it will cover the cost of the car as it's due it's MOT and we think there's a bit of work needed this time round. Anything extra will go to the new kitchen stuff.
Quick Vinted update for the month.
