The goal, the target is never quite as much of a buzz to me. Its as if my mind is saying to me 'ok you've climbed the mountain, now what'.
. I think we tend not to deal with the reason we over eat so once life gets tough we go back to our old ways

Browned off at work - stuff it I'll have some crusty bread.
Low mood - repeat. Even some sporting events which last 2 or 3 hours I automatically think what can I eat that night.
Losing a parent is a huge thing, any reaction to that is perfectly understandable.
The way I associate food with various moments in life......
I have no idea what the reason is tbh.5 -
I think perhaps I should have used emotional eater rather that comfort food! I'm like you
sad - eat
happy - eat
alone - eat
with friends - eat
you get the picture. We grew up with very little money and treats or rewards were often food related except I treat or reward myself with a cake etc. if it was easy we would all be a size 10Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -
Well done on the weightloss or staying the same! It's getting more wintery now and I think it's so much harder to find the motivation to shift weight when it's gloomy and cold.
Well, let's see how I get on this week. I managed a really good week of sleep last week, which helps so much with not having energy food cravings. Or bored/miserable/etc cravings.
I had a lazy 'snacks and wine' day on Saturday. When I counted it up I'd eaten double my calorie allowance 🙄 I enjoyed it though!
We had a lovely pub Sunday lunch with family, but we did go for a longish walk beforehand which offset some calories.
Meal plan this week is cinnamon and honey porridge for breakfast. HM soup, pitta and fruit for lunch and sensible evening meal. Achieve daily steps goal and yoga. No snacks, no weekday booze, drink 2ltrs of water.
Hope you all have a successful week!6 -
Pleased to report 1lb down, which puts me at the nice steady pace of 1lb a week average, or 5lbs since joining you lovely people.
I was a little surprised, as I feel like I have done very little due to feeling a bit under the weather and down in the dumps, but I stuck with going to the gym as well which seems to help keep me on track. I do find that keeping things as easy and simple as possible helps.
My gym is next door to the train station, so I don't have to go home and then head out again. This is something I've found will kill any good intentions dead in the water, because once I'm home I don't want to go back out again especially in winter.
I have found logging my food is helpful as well, otherwise it's all too easy to mindlessly eat sweets and snacks, but when I have to account for them I can see if I'm starting to go a bit overboard. It also helps me stop and think about why I'm actually wanting a snack.
Sorry for the longer post, and I'm not trying to be preachy, I find it helps every so often to remind myself of progress made and how to stay on track myself!5 -
STS From me, pleased with this as stress does affect your weight.
Neighbours still continue to be a problem, have had the recording equipment in from the council, don't think it was enough for them to take action, but was told we / they can try again if it isn't.
Had a text from Doctors, person when I called to cancel blood tests tried to debate with me why I had to have them, then ended up agreeing with me that the tests had nothing to do with my condition, told them I'd looked at the GP's notes and was then to be referred to X department, and they do not treat what is wrong with me, daft I am not.
@Pixie_Cosmo and @Foofoopuppy well done on the loss, and anyone else if I have missed you.
As for the bread, I am also one who would quite happily shove half a French stick covered in butter and apply to face, it's something I now avoid as it's a big cause of my weight problem, Mr Pepper has been reminded not to bring me toast and OJ in bed on holiday, hoping to still shift a few pounds before we go away.
Have a good week all.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Hello
Weigh in -0.5lb please Brambling.Very unexpected as have had a few days off plan which were high carb and 2 consecutive nights of over 1/2 bottle wine. I’ve been too lazy to track and count this week.
This week I will revisit my motivations and get back to counting and tracking.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025
