I am planning on only buying 'needs' not wants. I cannot go out and buy anything anyway, as I am recovering from a hip replacement.

My need today is an insert for my footwear as plantar Fasciitis has returned. I am not having to wear insoles in my footwear, since the op, as I used to walk with a limp.
Insole cost £4.99 on amazon prime free delivery. I had £2.50 in my amazon account from doing amazon surveys, so that reduced the cost to half price.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

I have cancelled my subscription with amazon for my access to reading books. It was going to cost me just over £9 a month . I do not think I have ever paid the full amount for a month, as I signed up to offers. When I can go out I will go the the cs, which sells books for 50p each and stock up with books.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

Just be careful, I_Love_Comps. A lot of the charity shops round here don't sell books anymore - because quote people don't read any more end of quote..... A library may be a better bet if you able to get to one easily.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035. Fashion on the Ration: 24/66 coupons spent.4

All the ones in our town do, we even have an Oxfam Book Shop only selling books. National Trust properties are also good for cheap books, usually £1 a throw. The NT site where I volunteer took over £30K in book sales last year, so there's plenty of book reading going on amongst our visitors!

for a few years pre lock down no one seemed to want books but i think people have come back from kindles etc back to a paper book our charity shops are always asking for books however i have noticed that the prices have come down a bit from the £2.50 / £3.00 for a paperback which oxfam were charging at one stage. Unfortunately no where in town sell them as cheaply as 50p. I do prefer a proper book if reading before bed but i also download books. TBH i think i have enough books that i won't need to buy any for a long while, not that it will stop me if i see something when killing time in a CS

I'm with you on the books! I added another 3 to my stash of over 1,000 for just £1 this afternoon.

So much to read, so little time.5 -
and me? I'm a lucky bunny because a cs in a nearby town sells p/b books @ 40 pence each or... 3 for £1
At that price I can decide that maybe I won't read any further (if it is tedious/ boring ) and just donate to a different cs.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything! --
Many thanks

this reminded me that our library did a pick up and collect service in lockdown where they picked out the books for you. I really enjoyed this and missed it when we went back to normal. I use library a lot and always read before bedtime. I can renew online which takes the hassle out of it.35k savings no debt6
