@bubbs - it's definitely got to be chips with steak! Only time I have jacket with steak is if I'm eating out.
@beanielou - Sainsbury's have started the cheap veg today - not free unfortunately!!!

Well done on your loss @Coxy11. Brilliant position to be in just before Christmas. 👏👏👏
Yes, definitely today for the Christmas veg @beanielou. I've just been to Sainsburys and got some of the 19p potatoes. Also been to Aldi and got swede and carrots to batch cook mash for the freezer. I have all I need now for the rest of the week so next shop will be for Christmas fresh stuff.
I bought some YS lamb chops too so will change meal plan and make a lamb hotpot tomorrow. 😋
I'm with you on the chips @joedenise. I'll try to batch cook some with the cheap potatoes. Freezer is pretty full at the moment but more space when the turkey and gammon come out. 👍
Tomorrow I have to put decorations up and DD1's birthday on Wednesday. She wants to go to Winchester Christmas market so I'll get to see the Fern Reefs again! 🤣
I can sew too @bubbs, did you learn from your mum? 🤔 Mine made all my dresses when I was little, including smocking.
Still on plan although am slowly working through the cherry liqueurs. 😋
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
L- LO casserole (P, S), fried veg and pickled cabbage (S), 1 potato (F)
D- baked cod (P), SW chips, mushy peas (F), green beans, mushrooms, peppers, onions, spicy cauliflower (S)
Syns - cherry liqueurs 3/6?🤔0 -
Beanie see you was answered about veg, he's not getting on too bad thanks still doing 3 days but after Xmas when he sees Physio hoping to be back FT.
Maman yes Mum made all our clothes, coats, etc she went tailoring, made Dad's suit 😍 for my sisters wedding. My sister and i both sewed for a living, hand sewing for Aquascutum , i loved that job i only left when they moved the factory and didn't like the travelling .
Well i had JP done in the air fryer to try, it was ok 😁Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
We ended up with jacket potato at lunchtime as the soup hadn't defrosted. Found the skins went very hard rather than crispy in the air fryer but don't know if that was because of the variety or the actual cookingThis of course meant I needed to find something else for dinner this evening. Quick rummage through the freezer and got out some roasted tomato sauce and mince and made spag bol. Was very tasty. It's not something we have very often as I'm not keen on pasta but didn't fancy cottage pie or anything like that.
I can sew as well. Used to do loads when the kids were little. Made most of their clothes plus clothes for myself but don't tend to do much now. It's cheaper to buy them half the time! Absolutely hate hand sewing though @bubbs - don't know how you could have done that for a living.0 -
Denise, Material is so expensive now, well so is cotton.
We had to do 8 stitches to the inch! 8 hrs a day but was different coats/jackets/sleeves.Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -

@maman, getting SW to work for us and our lifestyle is the key to making it a lifestyle choice rather than a diet. We all know diets don't work. Which is why even though I have moaned and created, the little half pound losses are good for me cos the changes Ive made are the ones I can live with. For me, not giving up the booze has meant I have had to really juggle and really be careful. That change will be happening in January - fingers crossed - and then I have to learn again new tweaks as I will have the full complement of syns to be used on food@jellybaby , great result for this time of year, well done xxxGreat to see you again @Nornironrose, great loss and wow - more interesting food plan compared to graving on tatties. Have you looked at the recipes on the website? Seriously they are mental, so much choice. I type in the protein and free or low syn and see whats there and what Ive got in. I do read them and often change them slightly to work for us as a family , not had a meal yet that none of us enjoyed@Bubbs, your sister is very talented, as you are in making filling healthy meals. If you dont win the Ninja, register on the website, you get 10% for that and then if over 55 and willing to scan in ID , you get another 10% off and they have sales every other week, I wouldn't be without mine now@joedenise, yep chips with steak , got to be really hasn't it? Well tbh with the air fryer I tend to do wedges, chips can be tricky enough and I do go over board with the oil. Jacket spuds I nuke for 5 mins before I stick in the air fryer - fluffy middles and a good skin.Myself, im at yuck stage. The journey to the daughters to leave off the pressies was ok. I drove, got there and pretty hungry but she was heading out to work so I thought I was very restrained with 2 choccie digestives ( I dont usually reach for these ) Got home about 3pm, both of us starved, quickly made turkey bacon rolls to keep us going, only I opened the stilton. Friends who were supposed to be coming for drinks said for us to go to theirs as they were inviting others, I nibbled on cheese. Came home and threw in a couple of pizzas, made a huge salad, did well 2/6 of a pizza. And then it went wrong, I was up late and ate another 2/6s , so a really carb heavy day. Which at least shifted the pile of spinach induced Iron that had been upsetting me LOL. Anyways today I was taking a friend for a turkey dinner lunch, she had two courses , I just ate most of the dinner and we both had a very large glass of wine and that been it for me todayHowever I think knowing Im off the booze in two weeks has unleashed the monster and Im really drinking way over the five I count forSo not in a good place right now. Im not hungry because Im drinking and because of that Im not eating properly so Im guessing its going to be another gain this weekAlso Im so far sickened with the yoghurt Im going to struggle this week in workStill on a brighter note, finally got the Christmas tree up, probably wont stay up long as both the cat and dog have an interest
And after lunch we went shopping, and with 30% sale PLUS my 30% staff discount, managed to buy friends really lovely pressies, look well expensive but with the discounts very very affordable, and got myself two new outfits - one for Christmas and one for NYE.
So this week is going to be a challenge for sure and then to top it all - taster on Saturday - with Christmas jumpers - and the mulled wine will be both syn and alcohol free LOL0 -
Morning everyone,
Raining here this morning – luckily there is a decent shelter at the bus stop and I am not made of sugar!! Have bought in overnight oats and some picky bits for lunch (cherry toms, cheese, satsumas, apple) but think boss is organising a beige buffet lunch today for the staff. I have a couple of items to take to the Post Office so hoping I can dodge most of the stodge!
Dinner tonight is SW easy chicken curry which is super quick and tasty – can’t wait.
Have fun trimming up the house @maman – DD wanted to do ours super early this year, so she did most of it! Still chuckling at the ‘fern reefs’ J Luckily I can’t abide squelchy chocolate (liquid/soft centres) so the cherry liquers wouldn’t appeal to me!
Wish I was better at sewing….I can just about make a pillowcase with my machine as my cohort at secondary school did a mix of home economics/woodwork and metalwork. Would rather have had the choice tbh! I can hand sew though, knit and crochet so at least that’s something!
Got to be steak and chips for us although it’s a rare treat nowadays as is lamb. We are knuckling down to pay off our mahoosive mortgage by this time next year, so are trying to be super careful where we can.
Be kind to yourself @Longwalker. It’s a very busy time of year with seeing folks and rushing about x
Have a good day everyone

Morning all. Had a busy weekend with friends and family and just feeling so burnt out from work. Have 2 big things to finish this week and so far have yet to look at them as they're both going to cause me a massive headache - procrastination at it's finest!
Trying to be "good" where I can but our guests at the weekend didn't eat all the "naughty" things so lunches this week are lots of salads with pork pies and sausage rolls. Oh well, I don't want the food to go to waste and other meals are as "on plan" as they can be. Dinner tonight is a vegetable curry to use up some carrots, potatoes and courgette, and will be enough for another portion for Thursday.
Will try and catch up with everything tomorrow, had better start on that big project 1 now!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
