  • Hi Everyone,

I just had a question, how would I find out or be informed of the verdict if I am not present? Would it come through the post?

    Hi Everyone,

    Yes.

Ring the court today as you asked to attend remotely.  They might be able to do that or they might be grateful to relist it for another date as they might have a lot of cases on.

Worst that can happen is they say no.  But point out you asked last week.

  • Thank you and unfortunately, they said no but let see what happens tomorrow!

You won't hear straight away. Sadly we'd say it's tipped the balance in favour of the Claimant.

  • I understand but I'll keep my hopes up that the judge will see the error. Just like to say thank you again to everyone for helping with this.

Hi Everyone, unfortunately it went as a loss but I know for next time. I wanted to ask if I should wait for the court order to come through the post before paying £180.

As I received this email the other day:

We expected that, sadly, as you didn't attend but £185 is a lot less than the claim!

It also means they didn't even get awarded the hearing fee, and certainly not the fake added £70 DRA fee.  They have wasted money on you. Good. It's an appallingly greedy and anti-consumer industry.

I'd wait for the written order and show us (unless it has no reasons stated).

    But:

Did you ever try but fail to appeal this one for any private parking charge? If so, be heard this month, by the Government's researchers and get £60 back towards that £185 cost:

Please help us by getting involved: help to finalise the regulation of the parking industry

This is an official thing and MSE Towers has agreed I can share it...

Short notice but do the survey now (and then a short & friendly video call next week) to tell the Government's consultancy outsourced firm your experience of 'appealing' (if you tried):

There should be appeal (ADR) available at ALL stages to keep cases out of court.

Your experience would be useful for the research. The work to finally regulate this rogue industry is nearly there, trust me.

This research needs responses from real people.

  • I'm glad they wasted money in the end, that's good news! I will await the final court order.

I'm not sure on the appeal because I didn't receive anything until the court claim form so I don't think I apply for the appeal case unfortunately. But, if I do I'm happy to help with that survey!

I don't think you do then, if you never tried the farce of the appeals service.

However, a Public Consultation about the level of parking charges and the added £70 fee "extortion" (that your Judge disallowed) is coming very soon.

We will all be responding to it and encouraging all posters here to join us, so that the final piece of the jigsaw is put into place to FINALLY stop the worst excesses and court grief this lot cause.

  • Hi Everyone, I just received this letter today.

Would I just pay the £185 to the details they sent in the email?
