No, not every time.Warslet said:For those familiar with Santander, do you always get an OTP sent to your mobile every time you log in?I use the Santander app on a regular basis and don’t get a OTP when accessing it. The app is reliable and easy to view/use (in my opinion).1 -
I applied last night about 9pm and selected annual interest. I am not an existing customer. The email I received today has a rate of 2.5%. Do you think I should challenge Santander?0

Are you an existing customer? If not, how did you complete the process so quickly?Goonerannie said:As Santander were withdrawing this account at 11.59 last night, I applied around 10 pm. I had acknowledgement of my application, but no confirmation until this morning. I see the rate I have been given is now 2.5%. I would advise anyone who applied last night to check the interest rate they have been offered. Needless to say, I won't be investing.0 -
... do you like it or make it?@ToastLady said:Futuristic said:
No I haven't I have rarely got a OTP asking for it on login, but I assume its saved your device for short duration. I assume if you clicked the "I'm on public device" it'd ask every time (not tested)ToastLady said:
Well, that's passwords arrived, online account set up and funded now. Easy peasy. I did actually transfer £1 the other day and it was there when I first logged in. I also set up mobile app and that's up and running too, although still to have a proper look there.Rudyson said:
If you have a Santander branch near you, you could make a test deposit online and ask at the branch whether it's reached your account. That's what I did with their previous issueluckybert said:
I have my sort code and account number and I was tempted to transfer some money into it, to start earning interest but would like that confirmation that the money is in here, and for this of course I need my online banking details.ToastLady said:Still waiting too Luckybert. I thought I'd try and register using account number, but it told me to wait for passwords in post.

Many thanks, I was obviously getting them for logging in to new devices whilst getting online with them for first time. I'd just rather not have to depend on them all the time, as my mobile communications can be a bit flakey at home at times. Had to request resend a few times before I got one coming through.Katiehound said:

Yes as you say it's most likely for logging in to a new device. I log in to online banking with my security number and old debit card number and never get an OTP, it's been like that for over 5 years now. I also always check the using public device box because I use BT Wifi.1 -
I have just called Santander and he confirmed that my account does have a 5.2% rate but because the email was generated today - after the rate had changed - it stated 2.5%. But he assured me it is 5.2% and once I get my passcode in the post and login to my account I will see the rate of interest. So I'll wait before I switch any money into it.0

Yes I think you should. You applied before there was any communication about closing the account to new applications. They will have the data regarding your application date/time.@pressk said:I applied last night about 9pm and selected annual interest. I am not an existing customer. The industry standard is to honour offers when applications (which prove to be subsequently successful) are made prior to withdrawal.1 -
PERHAPS I've misunderstood ..thought the deadline for opening was today at 11.59?? is this correct?0

received an email at 2pm today, i think mine took longer as i had an old redundant current account which i switched elsewhere.pana37 said:opened last night around 11pm i got the same message 5 working days, however not received any email acknowledgement that opening account request. anyone else heard nothing yet?0 -
Thank you for info, good to know. So I should be good now with laptop and mobile. Was a bit of a pain earlier moving all over the place, inside and out to get a mobile signal. To be honest, it was really bad today, not usually no bars showing, but typical when I was dealing with setting up new online banking account.dealyboy said:

Yes I do like the website interface, seems quite clear and easy to deal with. The app seems absolutely fine too. One thing, I was expecting a notification to tell me money had arrived, but didn't get one. Will have a look tomorrow to see if I can get this in settings, unless anyone tells me this is not an option.0
