Good Morning ⛅
Hi folks. [Rant Alert!!! 🚨 lol]
Yesterday was my first blip - was waiting in for bathroom to be re-painted and got messed around. Wasted day and really set me on edge. Add to that 30' heat in my apartment and any bit of motivation I had was sapped. Of course that's an excuse because I still managed to game. I think I was so unsettled (I'd emptied the whole bathroom, waited over an hour after he'd seen the bathroom for him to go and get his gear only to be told he'd no paint left) and frustrated (this had been booked in for ages) that I stuffed my anxiety down under gaming, and a mini-binge (just one big pack of pretzels I went out to buy). Didn't record anything in my habit tracker - and even though I remembered at about 22:00 I couldn't be bothered. I even left the pots in the sink. To cap it all - I had to close the window even though sweltering heat because of two selfish ***** (insert any swear word) outside having a conversation still from like midnight to 01:30 at least. So mad.
So today I woke up tired, and grumpy. I did mindfulness for yesterday and today (20 mins total) with limited success as my mind was churning over all of the above. I think if nothing else it made me realise I've still a way to go to be so affected by a few things beyond my control. Up until then I'd been in my own happy stress-free routine and feeling 'better'. Anyway - reminded myself it is just a 'blip' and today I get back on the wagon. There will no doubt be other days to come like that - and that's ok - as long as one day doesn't become two... becomes a week etc.
Financially - I'm doing ok. Yesterday did become a spend day but it wasn't all rubbish. Bills all paid and credit cards paid and just balanced accounts and all in order. Have a £5.82 cashback pending from my Shopmium App. You really should try it if you haven't got it. I've had £135 cashback since I joined a few years back. Also got over a fiver in my Arsdea rewards pot. Again I've probably had over £100 now in cashback. Their scheme seems so much more generous that Nectar now.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Cloudy weather ⛅ and a cool breeze. Please stay!!!
2) My sister for being a star in sorting stuff out for Mum and Dad whilst I'm off the boil
3) My PC/mobile which is like having a modern day crystal ball 🔮
Today = NSD number 3 still.
Have a nice cooler day x

Grandmanerd, I have a 'mother and baby/child' lamp the 'baby' part of which is brighter than the top lamp and can be shone directly onto books you are reading or notebooks you are writing in. Both lamps don't have to be on at the same time. My apologies if you are aware of these or already have one.5

@abundant1972 - argh to the frustrations of yesterday! Sympathies. Sounds like you did an impressive amount of adulting / life admin in spite of it though 😊👏
In terms of reducing junk consumption or binging, one thing that helps me, certainly to some degree, as well as eating regularly as you mention is eating more protein. So swop pretzels for nuts and eat more protein at meals. I think our need for protein increases as we get older (speaking here of me not you! 😉😂) and the body makes us want to ‘forage’ more for what we are lacking. Higher fibre foods help too - so swopping pretzels for oat biscuits with cheese and marmite might hit the taste spot at a much smaller volume / overall calorie intake?KKAs at 15.07.25:

@grandmanerd - silver for the baby is lovely. I’ve not come across that before. 😊
Oh and I have quantum loo rolls too - I’m convinced they have sneaked folded sections of universes into the bathroom and loo and hide in them, until they can triumphantly reappear just as I bring the new packs in to restock … 🙄😂

The whole 'too hot to have the window closed / too noisy to have the window open' dilemma is something I can understand only too well. I am also stressed and knackered because of it.I have work from tomorrow until next weekend. Volunteering today was traumatic, other school mums' problems are also traumatic, I helped all I could, but they are all now in my head, which does not help with the sleeping either. So 12-14 hour days next week are going to be big fun! I will be brave and think of the money.Party wall neighbour who needs to sign the flippin form has gone away on holiday for the next 6 weeks. I think I can appoint someone for him now, without his consent, as it has been 14 days since I served him. Would serve him right. That is also stressful. Now I have to tell the builder - he still has not given me a date for the work to start anyway. In summary - everything is stressful when you are not sleeping and other people are stressing you out.Still on NSD34/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@f0xh0les - hugs for other people’s problems crawling into your head and lots of hot stressiness.I think temperatures drop to a sensible level from Monday, which I appreciate is still a long way away, but at least after your first day of work you should get a good night’s sleep.Your PW neighbour is elusive! Do you think he knew you were heading his way and scarpered! 😉😂 I didn’t know it was possible to appoint someone else in his stead - I am intrigued by this. How exactly does this work?KKAs at 15.07.25:

He has 14 days to agree or disagree, he can agree and it will cost me nothing, he can disagree and tell me who he wants to appoint as his party wall surveyor and I have to pay for both his and my surveyors, or he can disagree and let me choose who to appoint on behalf of the wall. Or he can ignore me and I choose two surveyors and he gets no say in the matter and should have said something earlier. After the 14 days, basically it is me, my side of the wall's legal representative and the other side of the wall's legal representative .The wall has rights, I have rights, the neighbour has rights, I have to pay for them all -the surveyors work in the best interests of each side of the wall. If the 2 legal representatives can't decide, they get to appoint another independent Umpire surveyor to decide on the best interests of the wall as a whole entity.
It is bonkers.
My next home will be detached.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

A long tiring day and I spent quite a lot of money. Went out this morning to visit Citizen's Advice and found they weren't where I thought they were (consulted my map and did know where to go except they do it all by phone/ internet or video link if you're really unlucky (so I needn't have spent all that energy making myself get dressed to leave the house). It's now on tomorrow's list. Turned round and dropped off a book at the library, then sat reading for a while before trekking across the car park.
Had lunch and then headed out again (ankle and other bits are really sore - I inadvertently 'yelped' several times) with my package of anniversary and birthday cards. Unfortunately I wandered round the shop before posting my package and the crafty bits were too tempting (also bought some multi-surface 'painting pens' (like big felt tips but I'm thinking painting is now beyond me). Went in the 2 cs - I am now okay for winter woolies in caramel and cream, plus a few tops. There were actually 2 black coats in my size but they were both knee length so left them there. I may go back as there was a pair of brown and turquoise 'velvety patchwork' curtains for £6 (couldn't carry them, only saw them whilst waiting to pay). Went in another shop and bought more crafty bits (lots of paper and card) then walked through the market to get to the final shop on my list.
Got a good deal on drinks (8 cans for £4.19, 18 cans for £5.99, the bargain was at floor level, the poor bargain was at eye level). In fact my savings on drinks and bargain basement woolies probably more than offset the craft purchases. I also bought a pack of 11 different colours of mini post-its to sort my tasks.
Sat outside the shop and drank a can, then moved homewards very slowly. Had a chat with a man who was playing with his dog (I'd noticed them earlier and they were playing where I stopped). She was a rescue dog, very devoted and very clever.
I was so tired I actually pressed the button for the lights 3 times - I couldn't get up the first two times. Back home, asked Ds3 to help bring the bags in and I sat on the walker. Shared the couch for a while then DS3 decided to go to bed - asked him to carry some bags upstairs. came up as soon as I could move (some of the parcels from yesterday's order had arrived whilst I was out). Stripped everything off, ate and had my pills. My only task now is to sort these craft papers, as quite frankly I'm squeezed onto the edge of the bed and there's not enough room for me to sleep. Going to go through the craft mags and some craft books that I've had for a wile and cut out useful bits (fill the next paper bag at the same time).
