Hugs to all the stressed people, I too am one of them.
Ate breakfast early as I had a doctor's appointment at 8.15. During discussion, she asked if I was stressed & I started crying, so I must be! Got 3 days of antibiotics & have to go back in 2 weeks for further investigation. Rushed home made my dinner, got prescription filled, something else dropped off at the drs, then rush to work. Thankfully an easier morning - phew!
Left at 1.30 to take DS3 for a hospital appointment. Was only in 5 mins, but the surgeon agreed to his request. Dropped sewing off, then went to the cathedral to see the sun installation as part of the local science festival, treated us to an ice cream, bought a notebook that I'd ordered (& an extra one that DS spotted), borrowed a book from the library (I've got the 5 sequels, just not the first book!). Picked DH up after having his jab.
Lay on the bed for an hour, did some ironing after tea. Had a nice bath & started the book.
Grateful that DS3 got a phonecall to see if he was available to work tonight (he'd gone in last week, voluntarily to show them what he could do & they were impressed) & they've now given him a job, quality time together this afternoon, the book was on the mobile library van which was parked behind the library so could start reading the series 😃
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

f0xh0les said:He has 14 days to agree or disagree, he can agree and it will cost me nothing, he can disagree and tell me who he wants to appoint as his party wall surveyor and I have to pay for both his and my surveyors, or he can disagree and let me choose who to appoint on behalf of the wall. Or he can ignore me and I choose two surveyors and he gets no say in the matter and should have said something earlier. After the 14 days, basically it is me, my side of the wall's legal representative and the other side of the wall's legal representative .The wall has rights, I have rights, the neighbour has rights, I have to pay for them all -the surveyors work in the best interests of each side of the wall. If the 2 legal representatives can't decide, they get to appoint another independent Umpire surveyor to decide on the best interests of the wall as a whole entity.
It is bonkers.
My next home will be detached.
Good luck with the surveyors (and thank you for the explanation) - I know its a bit Byzantine but at least there is a way through without him being able, intentionally or not, just blocking it.

He can't block it. It is on my side of the wall 🧱, he can just make sure that I don't hurt his side and can ask for me to replaster his wall 🧱, paint it all, rebuild his cupboards, make him breakfast and run him a bath while I am at it.

How to avoid feeling deprived. The feeling of deprivation will undermine any effort to pursue long-term disciplines. The tightwad wannabe will fail as long as he views frugality as a lifestyle he has to endure, or was forced into BT circumstance. To overcome the feeling of deprivation consider the following three points:First, recognise that you are engaging in the discipline out of choice. You decide to give up something so that you can have something else.Second, as you cut back, give up expenses in the order of the ones that provide the least value for money spent. The order of elimination will differ from tightwad to tightwad. When you give up the lower priority things first, hopefully your budget will allow you to keep the extras that genuinely give value to your life.Third, do not compare your economic situation to those of others.Feeling empowered by recognising you are choosing to scale down to reach a goal, eliminating expenses in order of least value received, and accepting the givens in your personal economic situation are aspects of 'beginner tightwaddery '.Beyond this there is a plane of enlightenment... 'The Zen of Advanced Tightwaddery '.You progress to a state of mind where you develop an aversion to 'stupid expendt' as defined within your personal value system. They become symbols of darkness that have been placed in your path to thwart your efforts.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!8

A scorchingly hot day. Did yoga first thing & jotted incomings into my business accounts book. Work we t well with only the one tantrum (pupil not me 😂). Left as soon as the bell rang & painted the wood on DS3's greenhouse. Had to take DH to the shop halfway through, as he needed eggs to bind the fishcakes. I buy 60 per week, but DS2 eats them all, so there's never any for anybody else!
Printed a form off for DS3's ECG test tomorrow at a visiting CRY centre. It's just for peace of mind as he had an irregular heartbeat in the womb. He's VERY pleased with his first paypacket, he'd been paid an extra £1 per hour than he thought he'd get.
Found the other piece of rug canvas out & started making the matching rug.
I've had a lovely day 😃
Grateful for crossing another 'before winter' job off the list, reading my book whilst eating breakfast, a good dayUse it up, wear it out

Been at work for the last 2 days, and it has been sooo hot. Even hotter today by all accounts, but at least I can swelter at home, and needn't be on my poor old feet all day!Upside is that I haven't spent anything, so I am up to NSD 5 nowI am going to make the most of the weather and get all the washing done and dried on the line outsideSorted the fridge out last night and froze some items. The freezer is absolutely stuffed, and I must lay off the food shopping. I spent what I consider to be loads at the supermarket on Tuesday, though this included expensive hay fever tablets - the cheap ones don't work on me unfortunately - beer for OH and some bulbs for the garden. Not much will be needed next week! Or indeed for the next month!Grateful most of all today for not having to go to work!6
