Hide the Forum Menu - Feedback

OK so now that I guess your mean the hide this menu not remove, I've clicked on it and it's disappeared.  How do I get it back as it's very useful in my opinion.

A new small square should have appeared at the end of the top menu items to the right of "Help" the page it opens explains what to do.

I use it all the time, never had an issue, please allow me the option to keep it.

I did try that but nothing happened.  I've cleared the cookies, shut MSE, reopened and it's back.

I agree.
I did find it a bit annoying initially but the way I navigate through MSE, it's useful.

It also does not take you back where you were when you wanted to get rid of this awful thing so it is a triple inconvenient.

Can we either have an off switch in our setting or just get rid of it.

One of the things that make it such a PITA is that it remains on the screen and you have to move the cursor over the help menu option to get rid of it.

Also with this things there is usually a time delay, around 3 to 5 seconds, but with MSE it is instant.

It is incredibly tedious, so PLEASE retire it gracefully or develop an option built into our account settings so we can choose to never see it again.

The summary is that the menu is deeply integrated into the forum and a fundamental part of the navigation system. Any change must be made by our provider and we will continue to feed back to them our member's preferences. 

To help our members we've added a small fix on top that does a reasonable job of hiding the menu with the setting saved in your browser

Are you using a PC (with a louse or touchpad) or a mobile device (with a touchscreen)?

The issue with a PC is if your mouse scrolls over the masthead (Forum Home | Categories etc.) then a huge drop down menu box instantly appears - no delay at all, just WHAP! and it's there. So you have to move your mouse outside of the box for it to disappear so you can get on and do what you originally wanted to do. The fix blocks that mouseover effect, so you need to click on the masthead to reach the sub-categories etc.

Suddenly stopped working, can't stop the menus from dropping down.
W10 in both Firefox and Edge
