I am shocked, Fortune! I always think of you as having an immaculate house all round, but then I suspect your ideas of what would be shocking to guests and mine might be different 😉Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh dear 😂 How on earth have I managed to give you that impression 😂
I have an averagely clean house (I think 🤔). You'd be happy to come in to have a cup of tea and a slice of cake at the table but not to eat your dinner off the floor. Think traditional farmhouse - we are very rural so lots of mud and dust to wrangle with. So not immaculate - clean enough but cleaning could probably be done a bit more often if truth be told 😊

Grounded
I did not clean the en-suite yesterday as I found lots of excuses not to. Mainly writing up the minutes of the Directors' Meetings we are required to hold even though there's just the two of us 😂 So the minutes of our inaugural meeting are done and I found templates to follow for the minutes and vouchers required for issuing dividends. Also dropped a line to the accountant about where to categorize a couple of things in the accounts.
I got a lovely thank you text this morning from Younger Fortunate Mum-To-Be. It was her birthday last week and we'd arranged for an afternoon tea to be sent on the day so that she and partner could celebrate. However, the courier let us down and didn't deliver. Some of the items were to be eaten within 24 hours so I cancelled the order and complained. The company were very apologetic and refunded my money but didn't offer any compensation (which surprised me as they are a very well known, prestigious brand). I might have re-ordered if they'd given a discount or something. Anyhooo, I asked what she wanted instead and she asked for pyjamas as none of hers fit now (Grandbaby F is the size of a pineapple 🍍). So I sent a lovely pair of maternity pjs I found and she got them this morning.
It's bright and dry this morning (at least for now) so Mr F has gone out to try and finish putting in a gate post. I have re-priotised health and completed a 1 mile dog walk and an hour of low impact aerobics.
Lunch will be Cabbage Soup with buttered, wholemeal, bread-maker bread. I haven't got a Savoy cabbage but a lovely green one came in the veg box and I'm sure that will do instead. I'll pop a parmesan rind in to give it some umami. Supper will be Coconut & Kale Fish Curry as I got two heads of kale in the veg box this week and they tend to go soft quite quickly. They are currently sitting with their stems in bowls of water to keep them crisp a bit longer.
This afternoon I intend to look after my mental health and do some painting. I am almost finished a painting I started before Christmas so want to work on that. I'll need to push the vacuum around sometime but I'm going to focus on health and fitness first this weekend.
I'd forgotten to mention that the garage picked my car up on Thursday so they could finally fix the issue they've caused. It was supposed to be back last night. I called at ten to five to see what was happening with it and was told someone would call back. And of course they didn't 🙄 I managed to get hold of someone this morning and was told they'd fitted the new part but were having trouble re-programming the car as it hadn't been re-programmed for some time (it is quite old). They're hoping to have it back by Monday 😲 Great I said but what am I supposed to do without a car all that time 😆 Use the courtesy car they said. The one you didn't leave the keys for because I said I wouldn't need it if the car was coming back Friday night? Anyhoo, I can cope without the car until Monday but I've made it very clear I expect them to keep me updated. I think I'm having these issues because the one person whose job it is to talk to me is not 🙄 Everyone else seems to be stepping in to pick up the pieces because he's not doing his job. In the meantime, I'm grounded.
I hope we get some more sunshine - it makes such a difference and I'm fed up with all the sogginess.

Oh that's annoying about both the car and the afternoon tea! Glad you are grounded. We have been enjoying the sunshine today too, most pleasing 😊5

I meant grounded as in 'can't go out' Cheery 😂 But I am feeling the other type of grounded too 😁savingholmes said:I too had the impression your home was super clean.

I don't know how I've managed to mislead you all 😂 Now you'll all think I'm a slattern 😲 Don't worry I am clean - just not clinical.
Will get back to you soon SH.
