Glad you have sorted the invoice out! How ridiculous to not let you know that your invoice had been held 🙄 Good luck with the garage too, sounds like you are at least starting to get to the bottom of it.5

Why on earth didn't they just ask you to do a credit for the alcohol immediately. Makes me wonder if they have someone working in accounts that was too scared to go to their boss & say we can't pay this as it is because ..... do something about it. Which wouldn't exactly shock me as surely DH wouldn't have left if they were a really nice lot to work for. Looking forward to some very expensive coffee!

That is so frustrating about the no alcohol rule! Might be worth asking for a full list of ‘rules’ for future reference - there could be all kinds of random things in there you could trip over! 🙄 Well done for getting that moving and I hope the payments arrive swiftly - I’m rather enjoying your mild manipulation that they want OH more than you want them 😉
Bravo on the garage assertiveness too. I hate it when people get bogged down in being defensive BEFORE resolving things for the customer! Sounds like you became an irresistible force 😊👏

I know Cheery - a quick call to let us know and everything could have been sorted. But no, I end up having to send a shirty email and copy in the big guns before I get a response. Fortunately, I have no qualms about doing that 😆savingholmes said:Hope that it all gets sorted soon. Sounds ultra frustrating.
The timing doesn't help SH. As a start up we're trying to strike a balance between paying ourselves and building some contingency in the business. Plus we're trying to take advantage of any tax allowances before the end of the financial year. None of which we can do if we don't get paid.badmemory said:Why on earth didn't they just ask you to do a credit for the alcohol immediately. If they'd only just told us BM - instead of sitting on the invoices for weeks. I suspect their accounts payable is outsourced 🙄rtandon27 said:Glad those frogs 🐸 got well and truly chomped!

😂😂😂 I think my normal mode is Deanna but, when people start taking the michael, I go into Duras sister mode 😂😂😂KajiKita said:That is so frustrating about the no alcohol rule! KK
I understand why they have a no alcohol policy KK but not everyone does (and even the tax man allows 'reasonable' alcohol costs) so how were we to know if they didn't tell us. It's like a weird guessing game they're making us play. Well - don't play a player 😆 Although I consider not taking on any more work until our invoices are paid good business practice rather than mild manipulation 😂 It is good to have the upper hand though so we'll be leveraging that if we have to and while it lasts.

Re the no alcohol rule - I once worked for a boss who refused to pay for booze. As we were working away from home for at least 3 nights during each week we got to be regulars at local restaurants and one in particular would bill a glass of wine as cola - which was dearer than a glass of wine !8

Hello Gilly 👋 There's always a work around isn't there 😆 We don't drink during the week unless there's something special going on. However, Mr F thinks those rules don't apply when he's away from home 🤔 So it might not be a bad thing if the client doesn't pick up the drinks bill 😆

A Break in the Clouds 🌤
We had a dry-ish afternoon today so Mr F went out with his new toy (extendable hedge trimmer) and trimmed all the trees in the courtyard. It's usually a day long job but he got finished in a few hours with the new gadget. So that was money well spent and he's a happy bunny 🐰
I painted a birthday card for a friend - violets, the birth month flower for February. Also did some budgetting and plotting and scheming. Financial plans are going... to plan 😆 So far anyway. It would be good to get the outstanding invoices paid this week so I can shuffle funds around a bit.
We had Parsnip & Carrot Soup for lunch with buttered, sourdough. Supper was Roast Cod with Creamy Kale & Potatoes.
Hope you've all had a good weekend.
