An in-between phase

Thanks @EssexHebridean Sant seem to be generally dreadful, I had to chase their 'voucher for opening account' provider for months past the deadline, and Santander were like 'nothing to do with us'- well yes it bloody is!
This Saturday early start @KajiKita, basically got tomorrow to finish it all as funeral on Friday

Fish & chips on day 1, ready meals on day 2 is essentially the law.
Make sure you have your box with all the stuff you need for first evening/first morning too. Include biscuits for helpers, and some jelly baby type sweets for a quick energy boost for anyone who needs it.
Another trick we found really useful was having one bag with our toiletries, clothes for sleeping/the following day, towels and a set of clean bedding ready to put straight on the bed once it was all reassembled. It was probably the single thing we did that made the most difference to the moving day experience though! It travelled in the car with us rather than in the truck, and it was so useful not to have to be scrabbling around for the basics!

Good tips @EssexHebridean, we've got an 'essentials box' but unfortunately can't take the car as we're not allowed one at new place (council rules 😐). Mr PIP is going over by train super early as move day was only day virgin could do, and I'll stay at flat to
have a nervous breakdownassist and direct removals men then get train over once they've set offhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

You have to get a train. To move.
I really feel like it should be a steam train and a man in a fedora should be involved.

That would be aces @WelshmansDaughter (though it would also be aces if the actual trains are actually running 😂)
Love the title, now quite annoyed I'm moving to East London instead of 'pon the Moors

I have just realised that that may have sounded like we were making a sacrifice to bring blessings unto the new gaff. I meant the only day virgin media could do so we have interwebz

I read it first time as internet, but when I read your comment about sacrificial offerings I went back and re-read it with that in mind, just for my own amusement.

I think most of the moors are on fire at the moment, so probably best to stick with East London (which is the superior part of London anyway - I look forward to welcoming you fully to civilisation! 🤣)

your new home sacrificial rituals made me smile. And now EH has lobbed East London into our best part of London banter 🤷♀️
