An in-between phase

You might be able to use this thread to show your councillor what has been going on. Maybe see if they will read the whole thing (or one of their minions can). It documents that dates you have tried to contact everyone.

Thanks for the thought @weenancyinAmerica
I don't think they would ever do so and I wouldn't really want them reading my personal business either, and also the council haven't really done anything wrong in this case. They don't have any legal obligation to help us.
It seems that as far as they're concerned Thames got their permit and didn't use it and council isn't allowing road block again for no reason which while sh*tty is kinda fair enough. Obviously things would be different if we were rich developers but heyho

I am aware that every time I respond to anyone it must come across as at best a can't-do attitude and at worst like I surely must be just making things up to be dramatic. Everyone and everything in this build process really has been this sh*t, and I really, really appreciate all your support and suggestions ❤️

Here, we would have gone to the local television station to investigate. You may not be the only one they have done this to.

Thing is @weenancyinAmerica there's nothing to investigate, just because we're screwed doesn't mean anyone else is culpable. There's no provider other than Thames and they protect themselves by saying don't move in unless there's water supply. That doesn't mean they have to supply it. It's not their problem if people don't have second homes. Council are within their rights to not give Thames another permit. It is zero bother to council whether we get to move in or not. No matter which direction we turn in, no-one cares, we don't live in a society where businesses or official bodies are in any way obligated to give a f*ck. As far as Thames and council are concerned it is our tough luck if we've wasted hundreds of thousands of pounds getting into debt and can't move into the houses we built. It is literally not their problem, only ours

I’d go to the local paper or local tv station. They often look for this type of story and it can just get something moving.
Thames Water are not popular so this sort of thing can be right up a local papers street. Shows their incompetence. And you are helping everyone by building your own house You are releasing your current property back onto the market and saving the local council from maybe having to re home you. So someone has to care!!!3 -
And better than leaving a building just sitting there inviting squatters and vandalism if no one is going to be allowed to move into it. I'd even put up signs saying what the problem is. Having a vacant house looks even worse for the local community. Have you spoken up at meeting like the WI to see if this has happened to other people? Have you asked the local TV is bribes are needed here?
