    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £222,084
    - OPs to mortgage = £12,881 Estd. interest saved = £6,203 to date
    c. 16 months reduction in term
    Fixed rate 3.85% ends October 2030

    Read 14 books of target 52 in 2026 as @ 15th February.
    Produce tracker: £39 of £400 in 2026

    Yes it was so sad to hear about Chris Rea. I like most of his songs, he had a unique voice.

    Also sad re Chris Rea.   And thought provoking, another loss from the soundtrack of a life, I've listened to his music whilst renting flats and buying my first house (and I hate driving home for Christmas for it always reminded me of Christmas's alone or when I never wanted to go to the family home but did anyway)
    Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

    In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
