The cost of all the bits & bobs for kitchen cabinets is extortionate, but there are bargains about if you have time to search them out. The varnished oak knobs I wanted for my cupboard doors were £10 (!!) each in a well known DIY store. I left them there & got unvarnished oak knobs from The R@nge, 6 in a pack for either £3 or £4 a pack. OH varnished them, & they look identical to the ones we didn't buy!
When Microsoft disappeared from my PC, the friendly man in the computer shop replaced it with Libre & was able to transfer all my Microsoft spreadsheets etc on to it , & all for free.

Ooh that looks very spectacular!PennysIntoPounds said:Apols for terrible pic but much excitement in North London at the very rare occurrence of being able to see the Greenwich Meridian laser (South London) what with the climatic conditions

Thanks @kayannie, definitely up for being creative and delving around. While it would be nice to just have something entirely sorted, tbh if we have leccy and water we'll survive kitchen-wise until we have money/energy to sort it. The big challenge at the moment is raising the £10,500 it costs for Thames to connect us to the mains!
Have got Libre and seem to be making some sense of it, good to know you find it usable.
Thanks @WelshmansDaughter and @dawnybabes, I'm out tomorrow late afternoon to mid eve but in on Friday so if you can start wafting it tomorrow midday that should be great timing for me to admire it indoors 😁
The photo really doesn't do it justice @Sun_Addict but being able to see this enormous green shaft of light in the night sky stretching into space, and knowing that that's where the actual time wot we have is from, was one of those moments

That pic sums up one of "those moments" indeed. Lovely.
We have "wet snow" here according to the weather app - which to most of us is torrential rain
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
we have 'too cold to snow' temperatures here, which I've never quite understood.
Tis below freezing though and I really wish I had sorted out my log store on the weekend. It just feels warmer when I can see flames.
Fabulous photo!Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25

Surely you're getting treated to a bit of sleet as well for it to warrant 'wet snow' @Watty1 😁
Loved seeing the Greenwich light, maybe I'm a bit sentimental but I was like 'that's the actual timeline, off of being the actual time, that is effin amazing that is'
Eep, wrap up warm @Rhyddid2026. Afaik 'too cold to snow' is kinda nonsense but in a roundabout way true as if its colder in the sky/clouds then less or no snow can form cos they're dried out from being cold whereas you need moisture for snow, what with it being wet stuff. So it depends on if the above you weather has enough 'condensation' at the right levels of cold and moist.
That was a terrible explanation, just layer up.
When you have time you can sort your log store out and look forward to your Dec/Jan/Feb self thanking you 😊
